Presente simple

Se utiliza para describir una acción regular, cierta o normal.

 
Acciones regulares o habituales en el presente:
I take the train to the office.
Yo voy a la oficina en tren.
 
Hechos generales. y científicos:
Water boils at 100°C.
El agua hierve a 100°C.
It rains a lot in winter.
Llueve mucho en invierno.
 
Hábitos:
I get up early every day.
Me levanto temprano todos los días.
 

Conjugación y ortografía de los verbos

El presente se forma utilizando la base verbal (infinitivo sin TO). Generalmente se añade una S en la
tercera persona. La ortografía del verbo en tercera persona varía según la terminación del verbo:

Frases negativas:
Don’t y Doesn’t se utilizan con todos los verbos excepto To Be y los verbos modales (can, might,
should etc.).
 
Forma afirmativa:
You speak French.
Tú hablas francés.
He speaks German.
Él habla alemán.
 
Forma negativa:
You don't speak French.
Tú no hablas francés.
He doesn't speak German.
Él no habla alemán.
 
Preguntas:
Generalmente se utiliza Do o Does. Esta palabra no se traduce en español, pero es fundamental. Se
coloca al comienzo de la pregunta.
 
Forma afirmativa:
You speak English.
Tú hablas inglés.
He speaks French.
Él habla francés.
 
Pregunta:
Do you speak English?
¿Hablas inglés?
Does he speak French?
¿Habla francés?
