BRITISH AND HUNGARIAN

EDUCATION
THE BRITISH EDUCATION SYSTEM is
worldwide reputed for its high quality and standard.

Children start at the age of 5.

They have to wear uniform.


During the first year kids have to be able to decode and

understand phonics.
At the age of 16 students write an examination called the
GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary
Education).

After completing the GCSE,

Children in HUNGARY start school at the age of 6 or 7.
The majority goes to state school.

Students don’t wear uniform

The best grade is 5, the worst mark is 1. In English speaking


countries A+ is the best grade, F is the worst.
In the Hungarian secondary education system
students can learn in high school, and secondary vocational
school. In vocational schools the focus is on learning a trade
like gardening, nursing, shop assistant.

Secondary school prepares students for the


matriculation exam and for higher education.
