ANTHRAX
• A serious
communicable
disease which may
occur in man as an
attack on lungs,
intestines or
throughout the body
by means of blood
circulation
HOW IT IS ACQUIRED:
• Handling infected animals
• Consumption of infected or insufficiently cooked
meat
• Inhalation of dust
SYMPTOMS:

• Fever and prostration


• Skin infection which begins from itching pimple,
develops into blisters and becomes boil
CHICKEN POX
• It is a disease
commonly in
children caused by
varicella zoster
virus.
SYMPTOMS:

• Fever
• Rashes appear as red pimples which quickly
change into small blisters filled with clear fluid
CHOLERA
• A bacterial
infection of bowel
producing profuse
watery diarrhea,
muscular cramps,
vomiting and rapid
collapse
HOW IT IS ACQUIRED:

• Drinking infected water


• Eating contaminated foods

SYMPTOMS:
• Vomiting
• Extreme Diarrhea
• Below normal temperature
• Rapid pulse
DENGUE FEVER
• An infectious,
eruptive fever
characterized by
pains in joints and
muscles
HOW IT IS ACQUIRED:
• Conveyed by a mosquito bite

SYMPTOMS:
• High fever
• Severe headache
• Aching in eyeballs
• Rashes
GERMAN MEASLES
• A viral disease
characterized by
fever, mild upper
respiratory congestion
and fine red rash
lasting a few days.
SYMPTOMS:
• Fever
• Rash
• Headache
• Stiffness of the muscles
MALARIA
• A recurrent fever
caused by protozoa
introduced in the
blood stream by the
bite of a mosquito
SYMPTOMS:

• Severe fever and sweating


• Severe headache
MUMPS
• A viral disease
which causes the
swelling of the
salivary gland
SYMPTOMS:

• Swelling specifically in front of the ears and


around the jaw area
• Slight fever
RABIES
• An acute infectious
disease that is fatal.
When a rabid
mammal bites humans
or animals, its saliva
transmits the infection
into the wound, that
spreads to the Central
Nervous System
HOW IT IS ACQUIRED:
• When a person is bitten by an infected animal such
as dogs, cats, cattle, horses, sheep, goats and pig
SYMPTOMS:
• Fever
• Chills
• Fatigue
• Problem in sleeping
• Lack of appetite
• Headache
• Sore throat
• Vomiting
TUBERCOLOSIS

• An infectious
disease that may
affect almost any
tissue of the body
especially lungs
HOW IT IS ACQUIRED:
• Coughing and sneezing
SYMPTOMS:
• Persistent coughing
• Slight loss of weight
• Night sweat
• Recurring pains in the chest
