Area & Location
5,520 km² - Tamil Nadu (2537.6 km²), Karnataka (1527.4 km²), Kerala (1455.4 km²) INTRODUCTION
Climate & Topography
Rainfall ranges from 500mm to 7000mm per year. The reserve encompasses three
ecoregions, Moist deciduous forests, Montane rain forests, and Dry deciduous
forests.
Objectives of NBR
Preserving biological diversity, Catalysing ecologically sound development of the
entire region and Generating assured employment for all tribals, rural landless and
other weaker segments of the population living near NBR.
