Overview:
This module examines the
relationship between religious cultures and
the forces of globalization.

Objectives:
Explain how globalization affects religious practices and beliefs.

Analyze the relationship between religion and global conflict and, conversely,
global peace.
• Why is religion consider global?
Religion is global in that it is related to
the global transportation of peoples,
and of ideas. There is also third way
that religion is global, which might
be called the religion of globalization
in which forms of new religion
emerge as expressions of new
interactive cultures.
 Does globalization pose a great threat
to religion?
The results indicate that globalization is a
contributing factor to increase in
restrictions on religious freedom, with this
partly being explained by the perceived
threat communities feel when they are
exposed to members of other religious.
Restriction on religious freedom are on

What is Globalization?

• Is the networking and expansion of once local products,


beliefs and practices into universal products, beliefs and
practices often through technology.
What is Religion?

• The belief in a god and worship of a supernatural controlling


power, especially a personal God or gods.

• Religion is a fundamental set of beliefs and practices


generally agreed upon by a group of people. These set of
beliefs concern the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe,
and involve devotional and ritual observances.
• They also often contain a moral code governing the conduct
of human affairs.

• The religion derived from Jesus Christ, based on the Bible as


sacred scripture, and professed by Eastern, Roman Catholic,
and Protestant bodies.

monotheistic (belief in one God) message , and follows some of the

 Globalization has a great impact on religion. As people

 And to our mind, finally, the globalization will end in
complete domination of one of them over the rest.
