I’ve learned from this that I need less visuals to learn than I thought I did, though it makes sense
considering I mostly educate myself with YouTube Audio

This benefits me learning online because usually there isn’t anything visuallly happening on the
webcams that help me learn.

● What is the Title of the Career/Job you found that will support you? Retail work.

● What should your Annual Salary be $27,000/yr and Hourly Wage $15/hr

● In California 2017 about how many people will be employed in the job? 3 million people

● In California 2017 about how many job openings will there be? A lot.

● What kind of education(s) does your job require? Out of high school? None. For the job I want in the distant future? I will probably need a
degree in biology.
● Are the “working conditions” something you will enjoy? Customer service, smelly customers, complaining customers- probably not. being a doctor
later on is pretty much identical too, so no not really.

● How many hours will you be expected to work weekly? Retail- Probably 2-8PM, needs to fit in with school. After graduation- 9-5PM, I want to
work full time as a physician.

● Tell me in 2-5 sentences what you learn from this Reality Check activity? OMG I’m going to have to go to college, lives with my parents for

longer, eat less, go out less, etc…)

I’m not going to be financially independent for a while. The job I would want to end up with is going to need a
difficult road. Between studying in pre-med and working at some store, I will not have much free time to myself.

I like the idea of being a physician even if it will be long and tedious. That
is the main downside. I think I’m pretty capable at it, I’m passionate for the
human body and I feel like I could perform my job well.
