• Growth rate: Vietnam is a huge and potential
market for printing industry with average
printing growth rate 10-15% per year.
• Normally, in the printing industry, the gross
profit margin falls from 10% - 15 % for
consideration/conservation.
• In 2010, profit margin falls from 5-6% because
of increasing prices of papers.
• In 2010, printing quality estimated about 870
billion pages ( 13x19cm), increase 10%
compared with 2009, revenue increase 7%

companies have develop stable.
• Annually, the printing industry achieves the
output of more than 400 billion pages with
an average increase of over 10% per year,
in which, Ho Chi Minh City holds up to
about 45%.

• According to the figures of Vietnam Packaging
Association, with the turnover of about 1000
billion VND (approximately 60 million USD) per
month in 2006 and a growth rate of 25 – 30%
per year,
• The packaging and Printing industry
contributes about more than 6-8% to Vietnams
GDP.

 Growth rate of Investment for equipment,
machines
• Investment in printing equipments have been
increasing rapidly. Annual printing capacity increases
by the average of 15.5%.
• Annual, TPHCM invest more 5-7 Million USD for
machines and equipments.
• In 2010, The numbers of machines were sold
increase about 16% compared with 2009, and
increse about 30% from 6 first months in 2011
 Forecast in 2012 about investing
machines.
• In 2012, trend for investment the printing
machines:
+ Offset printing machines about 44%
+Auto-digital printing machines about 21%,
+Flexo: 19%
+Gravure Printing: 10%

 Situation of Raw Materials.
• Most of the Vietnamese paper companies can
only produce normal paper,Therefore, about
80% of the high‐quality printing paper has to
be imported from Korea, ASEAN and EU
countries
• The price of raw materials imported into
Vietnam is influenced strongly by the tax law.
While import tax of pulp and paper in some
regional countries is 0%, the import tax of pulp
in Vietnam occurs by 1% and waste paper by
3%. Materials with high prices plus high tax rate
lowers the production capability of enterprises

 OFFSET
• Offset printing in

Poster, Hangtag, PackagePaper bag, Sticker,
Barcode label, Label, Calendar, Books,
Periodicials, Directories, Other cultural articles,

• USUALLY PRINTING IN PAPER MATERIALS
 FLEXO
Used for printing on almost any type of substrate including plastic,
metallic films, cellophane, and paper.

It is widely used for printing on the non-porous(rổ, thủng, tổ ong)

substrates required for various types of food packaging (it is also
well suited for printing large areas of solid color)

Flexography is used to print corrugated containers, folding

cartons, multiwall sacks, paper sacks, plastic bags, milk and
beverage cartons, disposable cups and containers, labels,
adhesive tapes( băng dính), envelopes, newspapers, and
wrappers (candy and food).

USUALLY PRINTING IN PLASTIC, CARTON, CONTAINERS.

 Gravue Printing
• With gravure printing an image is etched on the
surface of a metal plate, the etched area is filled
with ink, then the plate is rotated on a cylinder
that transfers the image to the paper or other
material.
• Like flexography, gravure printing is often used
for high-volume printing of packaging,wallpaper,
and giftwrap using fast-drying inks. Although
less common, gravure printing may also be
used for printing magazines, greeting cards, and
high-volume advertising pieces.
• Usually print in plastic, metal.
 SILK CREEN PRINTING
• Screen printing, sometimes called silk
screening or serigraphy
• Silk screen printing in large dimension:
simili(giả da), canvas(vải), plastic board,
dummy,...
• Require high-tech and experiences in workers

• United Packing Joint Venture Co., Ltd (UPJV) was set up on
23/01/2002 by Grant United Company, Kim Hoan Vu and Kim
Ngan Printing Company.
• They have 2 units of 6 color printing machine , 01 unit of 5
color printing machine, 01 unit of 4 color printing machine, 1
unit of 2 color printing machine, 2 units of automatic die
cutting machine , E&F Flute corrugated making machine,
automatic laminating machine( máy dát kim loại) for E&F flute,
automatic gluing machine (02 sets), UV and calendering
coating machine( máy tráng phủ), automatic sheeting

• They are especially in offset printing and producing paper
boxes, offset cartons, labels, paper cups and food grade

 VISINGPACK PACKAGING INDUSTRIES LTD
• Export-market of Visingpack is now sreading to Taiwan,
Singapore, Chinese, United States and sone Europe countries
• Most of their customers are food & beverage companies. The
GD said their market share in food industry is around 50%; can
say they are the leading company and no other company can
compete with them; such as, they get 80% of KinhDo order;
Tiger beer each year contribute their revenue around 10Billion
and also they are the exclusive vendor of Tiger beerMost of
their customers are famous ones.
• VISINGPACK also provide the carton boxes to other famous
companies such as: Philips Electronics, CP Livestock
Corporation, Dutch Lady VN, Kymdan, Big C Super Market,

 Printing No.7 JSC
• Printing No.7 JSC was set up in 12/1977. It is one of
subsidiaries of Saigon Cultural Products Corp - a state
owned company. Their main products are most kinds
of box, label, poster, catalogue, brochure, paper bag,
stationary and other cultural utilities. The factory fully
equipped with imported from Germany, Japan sheet-
fed offset 1C, 2C, 4C and 5C presses such as
Heidelberg Speedmaster CD102-4, Komori Lithrone
S54.
• In 2009, they invested in a new environmental friendly
factory in Tan Tao Industrial zone with 12,500 sq.
meter and this factory will be finished at the end of
2010. After the new factory operating, the company
sales will increase 20% - 40%
