KAPAMPANGAN PEOPLE
 Also called Pampanguenos or Pampangos

 It’s the sixth largest ethnolinguistic group


in the Philippines.

 Most of the Kapampangans live mainly in


the provinces of Pampanga, Bataan,
Tarlac, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and
Zambales.
Kapampangan people are known for their
culinary skills
Pampanga is the Culinary Capital of the Philippines
Kapapampangan Cuisine
 It is deeply rooted to Spanish Cuisine but
has many similarities with Malay and
Mexican Cuisine.
 They have their own twist by using the
available and abundant ingredients in
there are which is the birth of exotic
foods.

 GIANT LANTERN
FESTIVAL is an annual
festival held in
December and features
a competition of Giant
Lanterns.
SAPATYA (Kapampangans’ favourite folk dance)
 The dance is usually presented by the farmers during the planting season
as an offering for a good harvest.

SINUKWAN FESTIVAL
 Aring Sinukwan is a god of the ancient Kapampangans, and this festival is dedicated to him.

 Street dancing is the highlight of the event and each delegates dance to the tune of the
Pampanga song “Atin ku pong singsing” in their elegant headdresses and colourful
costumes.
SABUAGA FESTIVAL
 This is held every morning of Easter Sunday.
 “Sabuaga” means showering of flowers; this has been celebratd in Sto. Tomas to honor the
Blessed Mother Mary.
 Street dancing also follows to promote the products and traditions of the town.
SAN PEDRO CUTUD CRUCIFIXION RITES
 At three in the afternoon every Good Friday, there is an actual nailing on the cross of
the three flagellants in the town of San Pedro Cutud.

 This is now an international tourists attraction.


GIANT LANTERN FESTIVAL
 City of San Fernando is known to be the Christmas Capital of the Philippines.

 20 feet diameter lanterns with thousands of dancing lights are being judge and display
every Saturday before Christmas.
APUNG IRU FLUVIAL FESTIVAL
 This is a fluvial parade of the image of St. Petr or the local called Apung Iru which starts every
June 27 and culminates on June 29.
 Decorative Pagoda is carried and ferried by men along Pampanga river routes.
