The true story of Pfc. Desmond T.
Doss (Andrew Garfield), who won the

refusing to bear arms during WWII on RIDGE
religious grounds. Doss was drafted
and ostracized by fellow soldiers for
his pacifist stance but went on to
earn respect and adoration for his
bravery, selflessness and compassion
after he risked his life -- without
firing a shot -- to save 75 men in
the Battle of Okinawa.
This war movie about World War II and how
war hero Desmond Doss, a pacifist, went

ways apply it to the present.

movie gives us insight about how history
and mankind are on a struggle for truth and
enlightenment.

 It is based on the book The Freedom Writers

OVERVIEW Diary by teacher Erin Gruwell and students who

compiled the book out of real diary entries
FREEDOM about their lives that they wrote in their
English class at Woodrow Wilson Classical High
WRITERS School in Long Beach, California. The movie is
also based on the DC program called City at
Peace. The title of the movie and book is a
play on the term "Freedom Riders," referring to
the multiracial civil rights activists who
tested the U.S. Supreme Court decision ordering
the desegregation of interstate buses in 1961.
RELEVANC The relevance of this movie lies with the

of disenfranchised and poverty stricken
people of color, where they tread this
life always on edge. We can see these
stories and experiences up to this day and
age. Moreover, it tells us that everyone

receives a new task that leads her

In order to complete the millions-
Baht task, Lynn and her classmates
have to finish the international
STIC(SAT) exam and deliver the
answers back to her friends in
Thailand before the exam takes
place once again in her home
country.

This Thai modern drama comedy film
delves into the school and how inquality
still runs beneath it. On the other
hand, cheating, which is the central
theme of the film tells us that people
nowadays will do anything to achieve a
goal, may it be illegal or at the cost
of someone’s life and career. Money also
is a huge theme of the movie, it
motivates and gets things done.
GAYA SA
PELIKULA
2020
Karl, an architecture
student moves into his
uncle's unit, takes on odd
jobs online and left short
on funds. His neighbor Vlad
hiding from his family
proposes that they become

It is an LGBTQ+ oriented
show that centers on the
struggles of the “gay PELIKULA
community” while displaying
your typical romance in a
homosexual context.
This Filipino BL series came out of
the boom that the genre has made in
the year 2020. A revolutionary take on
the usual BL trope, this series shows
the struggles of the LGBTQ+ community

RELEVANCE
while showcasing a romace enough to
swoon for. This BL goes to show that
we as a society are accepting the
existence of individuals that were

wrongly deemed before as sick and
different. Embracing these not new
ideas in this modern context evidently
shows us as a society and where we are
when it comes to tolerance and
acceptance.
