Commission by the media means the role and function of mass media. The role and functions of the
mass media include the following:

1. As an Information
2. As an education section
3. As an Entertainment
4. Mediator

In Indonesia:

Commision by the media artinya peran dan fungsi dari media masa. Peran dan fungsi dari media masa
antara lain:

1. Sebagai Media Informasi

2. Sebagai Media pendidikan
3. Sebagai Media pengihibur
4. Sebagai Mediator

1. Media as an Information

In English:

The mass media must be able to disseminate news to the public in general regarding all
kinds of events in various places, the public interest regularly or periodically and
continuously and contain new things, such as information or reports on the latest and
not repeated events. so that the influence of the mass media on society is felt
effectively.

In Indonesia:

Media massa harus sanggup dan mampu menyebarluaskan berita kepada publik secara
umum mengenai segala jenis peristiwa di berbagai tempat, kepentingan umum secara
tetap atau berkala dan berkesinambungan secara terus-menerus serta memuat hal-hal
baru, seperti informasi atau laporan peristiwa terbaru dan tidak berulang-ulang agar
pengaruh media massa terhadap masyarakat dirasakan dengan efektif.

In English:

Omission by the media occurs when important information is not reported or is reported incompletely and hoax. We can think of omission by the media as
being news that should have been reported but is left out of the news we read, see and hear. When important news is omitted, we get a skewed or biased
perspective. Obviously no news organization can cover every newsworthy story from every possible perspective. But news organizations and their
reporters do have an obligation to seek the truth and be reasonably comprehensive in their reporting.

In Indonesia:

Kelalaian media terjadi ketika suatu informasi penting tidak dilaporkan atau dilaporkan secara tidak lengkap dan hoaks. Kita dapat menganggap kelalaian
media sebagai berita yang seharusnya dilaporkan tetapi tidak dilakukan terhadap berita yang kita baca, lihat, dan dengar. Ketika suatu informasi penting
dari berita dihilangkan, kita akan mendapatkan perspektif (sudut pandang) yang miring. Jelas tidak ada organisasi berita yang dapat meliput setiap berita
yang layak diberitakan, tetapi organisasi berita dan wartawan harus memiliki kewajiban untuk mencari kebenaran dan pengetahuan yang cukup untuk
laporan berita mereka.

1. Hoaxes Conspiracy for Immunization and Vaccines

Immunization often gets rejection from several groups of society

due to incomplete information, untrue or hoaxes. One of the hoaxes
about immunization vaccines that are quite viral is the conspiracy
issue of spreading viruses or diseases through vaccines. Reportedly
the vaccines used for immunization contain animal cells, viruses,
bacteria, blood and pus.

This untrue issue has had a tremendous impact on the stigma of

Indonesian society regarding immunization. As a result, people are
hesitant and even afraid to give immunizations to their children.

Omissions Analysis
According to “Update Corona 27 Maret: 1.046 Kasus, 87 Meninggal, 46 Sembuh” news from CNN Indonesia excerpted above
“Yuri melanjutkan kasus kematian akibat Covid-19 hingga saat ini mencapai 87 orang” There is an error in diction which contains
connotative meaning; the sentence that can lead to new meaning. The word “melanjutkan” in the sentence is incorrect, it should be
replaced with the word “menegaskan” so that when the news is read, it doesn’t cause misunderstanding to the reader.
