ABSTRACT
Fungal Infection is a very serious
cosmetic problem which is utmost
concern globally, one such infection
being Dandruff . Dandruff is very
common scalp disorder caused by
numerous host factors in conjuction
with fungus Malassezia
Dandruff affects aesthetic value of
scalp and often cause itching. Finding
Antidandruff molecules from natural
sources is the current research focus
among cosmetic researchers. Hence
our present study is an attempt to
make a polyhedral mixture rich in
( alkaloids and flavanoids, Phenolic
compounds etc.) Incorporated in hair
oil for antidandruff efficacy.
Introduction
Dandruff (Pityriasis capitis) is a major
cosmetic problem that cause very
great public health concern both in
developed and developing countries.
This disease is of global prevalence
and needs effective therapeutic
remedies. The present work was a
comparative studies of the effect of
commercial antidandruff shampoos
and natural plant products to evaluate
their anti fungal efficacy.
Symptoms includes : itching, flaking
Cause : Due to genetic
environmental factor Malassezia may
stimulate cytokine production
keratinocytes further contributing to
inflammatory component of dandruff.

Anti Dandruff Properties of Castor Oil
One of the major Constituent of
castor oil is Ricinoleic Acid(85-
90%), which work as an excellent
Anti-Fungal Agent.
Apart from this Presence of
furfur.
flavanoids, tannins and alkaloids
in castor oil , prevents formation
of fungal (Malassezia furfur)
biofilm on the scalp.
Castor Oil also contains high
Quantity of Omega-9-fatty acids
that act as humectant(that
preserve moisture and reduce
Conclusion

The aim of this study is to reduce the number of
M. furfur on scalp and the goals of therapy are
to reduce morbidity. In Recent Years for the
treatment of dandruff a variety of synthetic
chemicals with anti malassizial activity such as
Ketocanozole, Climbazole and such natural
ingredients such as onion , garlic, turmeric,
lemon, aloe-vera, apple cider vinegar are used.
As per researchers and our review on various
articles, these natural ingredients especially
Castor oil and turmeric are very helpful to
reduce fungal diseases in particular to
dandruff causing scalp disorder.
