DIAGNOSTIC EXAM
• Deployed in Canvas and Navigate (WORD AND PDF FORMAT) in the QUIZ
SECTION.
• The student orientation is a gateway for students to get their CODES for
NAVIGATE Module.
• ACCESS CODES will be released by FEU Bookstore via Faculty e-mail account.
• Faculty will be distributing the student’s ACCESS CODE through CANVAS.
NAVIGATE LINK
• Independent Navigation (faculty E-mail account with ID and
password)
• ID and Password will be provided to sign in. Navigate using the
Microbiology and Parasitology module. Modules are divided into six
sections.
• Canvas Navigation – Integration with Canvas to follow upon activation
with Edtech
NAVIGATE MODULE OF STUDENTS
• Student site is the same site used by the faculty, (visit preferably using
google chrome)
• The Module is open 24/7.
• Technical concern of the modules (Technical Staff of Navigate offers
assistance.

• Weekly Assignment: Medically Significant Microorganisms
Week 1 – Medically Significant Bacteria

LABORATORY ACTIVITIES
• SIX (6) Laboratory exercises were deployed in CANVAS in the
assignment section which will be done by group(recommending 4 or 5
groups). One Laboratory exercise will be accomplished per week and
one laboratory output per group must submitted in CANVAS.
• The laboratory activity is an opportunity for the faculty in-charge to
have a discussion (or presentation) with the group of students.
• Laboratory template output included in the Canvas Module
• Student peer evaluation form to assess the participation of every
member will be posted in Canvas assignment section.

Each week with Major Assessment (30 item Lab Quiz)
COMPREHENSIVE EXAM
• The coverage of the comprehensive exam is from midterm to final
modules which will be deployed in CANVAS in the QUIZ Section.
• Questions will be consolidated by the Microbiology Committee
members (Ms. Vargsa and Ms C. Vargas). All faculty is requested to
share 10 questions in a Multiple choice format. Specific lessons will
be assigned for you to draw the questions.
• 40% of the Exam will be medically significant microorgaisms
• The final comprehensive exam is scheduled on July 24 -29, 2021.
GRADING-SYSTEM
• FEU Grading system policy will be applied.
• The passing mark for all course assessment is 50%.
• The Grade components/concept are as follows:
a) Lecture
Long Exam 40%
Assignment 20%
Performance Task 10%
Midterm Exam 30%
Total 100%

• Grade template (excel) will be provided with built in formula.

GRADING-SYSTEM
• FEU Grading system policy will be applied.
• Letter Grade Equivalent will be used as follows:
92 – 100% = A
85 – 91% = B+
78 – 84% = B
71 – 77% = C+
64 – 70% = C
57 – 63% = D+
50 – 56% = D
GRADE DELIBERATION
• Grade deliberation is a policy of the Institute of Nursing (IN). Online
grade deliberation will be conducted three days prior to the encoding
of grade with the program head of IN.
• The number of students who failed per section will be deliberated.
• A summary indicating the names of students who failed will be
submitted. Reasons for failure in the course will be explained by the
faculty in-charge during deliberation.
SPECIAL EXAMS(SPX)
• Students who failed to take the major exam will be given a chance to
take a special exam provided the student/s can give a valid reason.
• All SPX will be given once in Canvas
FACULTY ENGAGEMENT to STUDENTS
• Class consultation or online class discussion should fall within the
class hour assigned to you (TAL/AOL/MOL) still applies during the
summer classes.
