Any pharmacy that is part of group of four or more establishments

1. Conduct business under the same business name.

2. Is operated under common ownership or management.

 Structure Of Chain Pharmacy
1. Vertical Integration: The pharmacy integrated with distributor, wholesaler, and
factory, and the unit costs are lower.
2. Horizontal Integration: Chain pharmacy constructed by merging some
independent pharmacies and could be sole-ownership or shared-ownership.
3. Shared owner CDs in collaboration of some independent pharmacies which is
managed by directorate board and directing manager.

Pharmacy
For Bangladesh:
1. Owner must be Bangladeshi.
2. Have A trade license.
3. Take the PCB approved business training course and pass the post course
examination.
4. Owner Have more then four pharmacy shop or branches.
5. Adequate technical personnel (A,B,C grade pharmacist)
6. One server for all the branches.
7. Sufficient Amount of medicine which are under the Bangladesh drugs and
chemists license.

Rules and Regulation in Approving A Franchise of Chain Pharmacy in Our Country:

• The Franchise branch having not less then 1 Crore taka medicine in the shop.
• For the using of the brand name of the company, franchise branch must give 50
lakh taka for 5 years in the owner of the chain pharmacy.
• Owner having the power to investigate in the franchise branch at any time, and if
there is any problem, owner can take the action.
• Owner having only power to employ “A” grade pharmacist and manager in the
franchise branch.

Rules and Regulation in Approving A Franchise of Chain Pharmacy in Our Country:
• The decoration of the branch must be approved from the main branch.
• The branch group can not break the agreement rule of the chain pharmacy. If
they break, then the main branch can take charge.
• Every branch must have model pharmacy.
• Beside pharmacy it may include the food counter.
• Every Branch having space not less then 700 sq. feet.
• The franchise group can not sell any unapproved drug in their branch.
