ABOUT THE COMPANY

• PRINSTON SMART ENGINEERS is an ISO 9001:2015 certified training division

specializing in effective training of B.Tech and Diploma students.
• We have trained 30000+ Students for science & Technology program in various schools
and various TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS.
• Courses are designed to cover all aspects of most of our real projects over the years to
provide for smooth transfer of REAL knowledge and expertise that we have gained over
the years.
ABOUT THE COMPANY

• Training is HANDS-ON and covers all required fundamental and specialist know-how in
system operation, troubleshooting & maintenance, designing and installation.
• Our program is basically designed to minimize the gap between industrial demands and young
engineers.
• Smart Engineers is well known for its innovation and by collaborating successfully with our
customers, designers, sub-contractors, consultants as well as suppliers; we have been able to
provide more specialized level of services. We are continuously evolving and understand the
different aspects of delivering high value construction and complex projects with ease.

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

WORK DONE DURING THE INTERNSHIP

• A 3- BHK plan was given and was assited under the supervision of the leader to finsih the
elctrical works to be provided in the building such as Switch Boards, Exhaust Fans,
Lamps to be provided etc.
• Lightening the building was done using Relux software. The other calculations such as
calculating no: of lamps, no; of exhaust fans etc.
INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

• Calculation of Number of Lamps

Where
Area = Area of the room
Lux level = illuminance level as per standards
MF = Maintenance factor
UF= Utilization factor
Lumen of lamps =luminous flux of lamp(amount of light lamps is radiating)
Let’s start from bedroom-1
According to formula

Now,
Area of bedroom-1 = 3.6m x 3.3m = 11.88 m2
Lux level for bedroom = 200
Maintenance factor = 0.8 (A.C room)
Room Index = (L x B)/(L + B) x H = 2.006 ~ 2
=0.68
Utilization factor = 0.37
( consider 40W lamp with efficacy 100 lm/W)
Lumens of Lamp = 100 * 40 = 4000
Calculation of Circuit Breakers

I = 2.35 A
But MCB are selected for rated current includes 25% safety factor.
Therefore IR= 1.25 I
IR = 1.25*2.35 = 2.9 A
Therefore, the next standard MCB is 3A.
Calculation of Exhaust Fan

Number of Exhaust fans are calculated as given below.

Where, CFM = Cubic feet per minute

ACH = Air Changes per hour ( obtained from standard table)
Volume = volume of room
Volume of bathroom = 1.8m*1.8m*3m= 9.72 m3 = 341 Cu Ft.
ACH = 20 ( as per table given below)
= 113.7 ~ 114
Exhaust fan of Air flow rate more than or equal to 114 CFM should be used.
EARTHING
A good earthing system is required for:
• Protection of buildings and installations against lightning
• Safety of human and animal life by limiting touch and step voltages to safe values
• Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) i.e. limitation Of electromagnetic disturbances
• Correct operation of the electricity supply network and to ensure good power quality
• Provide an alternative path for the fault current to flow so that it will not endanger the user
• Ensure that all exposed conductive parts do not reach a dangerous potential
• Maintain the voltage at any part of an electrical system at a known value so as to prevent over current
or excessive voltage on the appliances or equipment.
LIGHTENING
Lightning Protection
• The principle consists in creating one or more preferred impact points for a lightning strike using low
impedance, conductor elements. These then conduct and dissipate the lightning current into the ground.
This coherent system enables the lightning to be captured and dissipated whilst providing protection to the
structure. There are five types of lightning protection systems for protecting structures against lightning:
• Rods,
• Meshed conductors,
• Catenary wires,
• Early streamer emission lightning protection system,
• Protection by natural components,
