OBJECTIVES
List and label the parts of Male and Female Reproductive
System
Analyze the functions of each parts of reproductive system
Define what fertilization and how it works
Value the importance of proper caring of genitals.
FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
is made up of the internal and external sex organs. The internal
sex organs are the uterus, Fallopian tubes, and ovaries. The
external sex organs are also known as the genitals and these are
the organs of the vulva including the labia, clitoris, and vaginal
opening.

OVARIES
-Are the primary
reproductive organs of
females. They release cells
called egg cells or ova in a
process as ovulation.
FALLOPIAN TUBE
- It serves as the
passageways for the egg cells
as they travel from the ovary
to uterus.
UTERUS
-Is also known as the
WOMB and it is the part
where the baby develops.
CERVIX
-It is the narrow muscular end
of the uterus. Its opening
expands during child birth to
allow the baby to pass through
the vagina.
VAGINA
- It is the female sex organ where the semen that
contains the sperm cells from male is deposited during
sexual intercourse.
MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
It has the main function of producing sperm cells, or
the male sex cells.

It is the main reproductive organs of males.
They are contained in the scrotum.
SCROTUM
It is sac of skin located below the penis.

TESTOSTERON
EIt a hormone responsible for the development of
secondary sex characteristics among male, such as
growth of facial hair and formation of pimples
The sperm cells mix with thick, whitish fluid that
is produced by the PROSTATE GLANDS. The
fluid mixes with the sperm cells and is released
through PENIS.
VAS DEFERENS
Is a tube like structure that serves as a passageway
for the semen when release during intercourse.
The penis is the external male organ that releases semen
and urine through a common passageway called
URETHRA.
GLANS
The large tip of the penis covered by foreskin and is
cut through a medical procedure called circumcision.
FERTILIZATION
Is a process that transpires when the sperm cell
unites with the egg cell to produce a new
offspring.
IMPLANTATION
•PROGESTESTERONE- female hormone
which prepares the uterus to receive a fertilized egg.

•TESTOSTERONE- It a hormone responsible for


the development of secondary sex characteristics among
male, such as growth of facial hair and formation of
pimples.

SYSTEM
Here are some ways you can observe to help
take care of your reproductive system:
1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating nutritious food ,
drinking plenty of water, getting adequate rest, and engaging
in regular exercise.
2. Avoid smoking.
3. Wash the genitals properly and regularly with water and soap.
4. Use clean sanitary napkins during menstruation. Change the napkins as
often as possible depending on the flow before it gets soaked to prevent
odors and infection.
MENSTRUATION- is the period of blood flow that females experience on
a regular basis.
5. Change underwear at least twice a day. Make sure to always use a clean
underwear.
6. Inform your parents of any discomfort or pain that you may feel.
PUBERTY
Is a normal part of human development when a child’s body starts to
develop adult like features and when his/her reproductive organs are
already capable of reproduction.

Girls generally starts between ages 9 and 14. Boys starts at a later
age, usually between ages 11 and 18.

Hormones or chemical substances secreted by organs called


GLANDS.
PITUITARY
GLAND
A tiny gland at the base of the brain cell and responsible for the
development of the bones and muscles.

PHYSICAL CHANGES IN GIRLS

THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE
It is the monthly shedding of uterine tissues through menstruation.
ADOLESCENCE
Is the period that follows puberty when a child acts and behaves
maturely like an adult.
