CURRENT STATUS FOR THE
OPERATIONAL PERIOD:
DATE: 1500H in the afternoon on September 16 (24 hours since the earthquake struck)

-Numerous aftershocks have occurred in the area


-The weather is fair, winds 17 kmh out of the southwest and temperature 28 degrees C.
 
-Incident Command Post (ICP) established to oversee and prioritize activities in the area.
-ongoing management of emergency response operations at the Ridge School and in the barangays in the eastern part of Rizal.
 
-DEATH: 10 PEOPLE
-MISSING: several near the school  
-DISPLACED FAMILIES: 200 FAMILIES
NEEDS OF DISPLACED FAMILIES:
-shelter
- medical care, and protection
-Continuing education for the displaced children  
-ELECTRICAL POWER IS STILL OUT: utility crews have been requested to work to reestablish power and communications.
 
-DAMAGE: moderate to severe in the southern and eastern portions of Rizal.
-Central Highway Bridge over the Roaring River- structurally
-bridge at Main Street - damaged and out of service.
INCIDENT OBJECTIVES FOR
THE OPERATIONAL PERIOD.
 Protect the health and safety of the public and the responders throughout the duration of the
incident.
 To be able to have zero injuries/casualties of the responders during the operational period.
 Proper delegation of assignments with specific task to each member of the team.
 Briefing the team with the set priorities needed to be accomplish during the operational
period.
 Provide medical care and triage to all victims.
 Mobilize/demobilize of resources needed for the response.
 Maintain proper communication to concerned personnel and offices with regards to the
current situation. Keep all means of communication fully charged and functioning.
 To be able to search 75% of the identified buildings with reported trapped individuals.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS:
 Emphasis on ensuring safe work site practice including use of PPEs,
observe personal and hand hygiene.
 Decontamination of used equipment/apparatus.
 Always do head count before and after each operation.
 Regular checking of equipment if fully functional and ready to use.
 Conduct regular briefing before each operation.
 Be aware of all safety procedures and protocols.
 Do reassessment of the area before conducting operation.
 Always be mindful of the roles and responsibilities.
MANAGEMENT OPTIONS:

 Regular comprehensive briefing prior to deployment.


 Limiting personnel to unsafe area.
 Continuous monitoring of deployed personnel and their resources.
 Proper utilization of available means of communication.
 Maintain situational awareness at all times.
 All members are provided with bug spray and other emergency medicines.
 Team members are encouraged to verbalize their issues and concern.
DEPLOYMENT APPROACH:

 All members of the team are well oriented on the site situation and area of
assignment.
 PPEs, gadgets, apparatus and equipment are readily available fully-functional.
 Safe escapes routes locations are well oriented by the team.
 Strict implementation of duty hours.
 Buddy system – always work in pairs avoid being separated.
 Tactical MAP were provided to easily locate landmarks and different facilities.
