• So…that… is used to show
cause and effect.
Subject + verb + so +
adjective/adverb + that + Subject +
Example : verb
• Clark run so fast that he broke the previous
speed record.
• Emily worked so diligently that she received
an increase in salary.
Subject + verb + so + many/few +
plural count noun + that + Subject +
verb
Example :
• The Barons had so many children that

CONCLUSION
• So is a followed either by adjective or

• Such is always followed by noun or noun
phrase.
• So-that and such-that are correlative
conjunctions to express cause and effect
