BACKGROUND

The Constitution provides that the state shall


“establish, maintain and support a complete,
adequate and integrated system of education relevant
to the needs of the people and society.” (Article XIV,
Section 2) 
CHED Memorandum
Order No. 20, s. 2013 

CMO No. 20, s. 2013 establishes


the framework and rationale of the
revised General Education in the
context of the K to 12 curriculum
based on college readiness
standards.
What is GENERAL
EDUCATION?

General Education is the portion of


the curriculum common to all
undergraduate students regardless of
their major.

General Education prepares the Filipino for


the demands of 21 s t century life and the
requisite abilities:
