What are Objectives?

 More specific than goals
 target is identified toward which the program
action is oriented
 Can be long-term or immediate
 They are specific, achievable, and measurable
statements about what is going to be
accomplished within a certain time frame
 They are not lists of activities

12

Uses of educational objectives

Enable to direct their learning to achieve

predetermined goals

TYPES OF OBJECTIVES
 National

 Institutional

 Intermediate

 Specific Learning Objectives

15

Broad and specific objectives.

• The broad objectives are achieved with greater

difficulty

• The specific objectives are more apt to be achievable,

dynamic and capable of doing much to help promote
action and participation

LEARNING

Vs
TEACHING

17

Learner’s objectives

• The knowledge base they are expected to learn

• The depth they are to learn it
• How to use this knowledge

18

Teacher’s objectives

19

Create a plan for teaching,

learning, and assessment
To begin, answer these questions:
▫ Who are your learners?
▫ What do you want them to learn?
▫ Does this align with school/licensure needs?
▫ What do they already know?
▫ How do the learners prefer to learn?
▫ How do you prefer to teach?
▫ How much time do you have?
▫ Who else teaches in this area and how does this impact your teaching?
▫ How will you know if they have learned?
▫ How will you know if you taught effectively?
