COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

1. Policies, procedures and standards shall apply

as per Student Handbook and CHCC
Administration memos.

Note to ponder: Read to know your Student Hand

book ( LAMANG ang may ALAM )
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

2. All classes, lecture and discussions will be

conducted via online using the Concepcion Holy
Cross College Learning Management System
(LMS) - the CHCC Flex-Ed and other available
social media platforms such as google suite, google
drive, zoom, and the like.
Note to ponder: Priority is BB but other platform is for
emergency resort
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

3. Students shall follow proper netiquette at all

times. Cyber bullying, yelling, teasing, use of
foul language and the like will not be
tolerated. Proper decorum such as courtesy,
wearing of decent attire (no sandos and
sleeveless) shall be observed especially during
online class.
Note to ponder: Think Smart, Talk Smart and Tend
Smart
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

4. All participants/members of the class are aware

and they agree that the proceedings of the online
class are recorded for archiving and administrative
purposes.
Note to ponder: Privacy Security
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

5. The instructor will provide soft copy of lessons,

reading materials and self-study module
downloadable in the CHCC-Flex-Ed
Note to ponder: Read extra resources given in the
Subject FLEX-ED ( para hindi nabubulaga sa Quiz or
Exam )
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

6. From time to time, students will be asked to

participate in the online discussions. The students’
final grade will depend heavily on class
participation, and on the quality of submitted
assigned tasks/activities, pre-assessment and post
assessment.
Note to ponder: Punctuality in submission and quality
in content
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

7. All tests are to be taken on scheduled dates.

Special examinations may be given only for highly
justifiable reasons.
Note to ponder: Be always ready for action not reason
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

8. Course requirements should be submitted

on time. Late requirements shall be
accepted at the discretion of the instructor
and if accepted, will be given demerits.
Note to ponder: Better on time than late NOT
late than never
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

9.Cheating and plagiarism are unacceptable

academic behaviors. Any student caught
cheating during an examination will get a
score of zero for that particular examination.
Any student caught plagiarizing will
automatically be given a failing grade in the
subject.
Note to ponder: Honesty is the best policy
COURSE POLICIES & GUIDELINES:

10. Students are expected to give their best effort in

studying the subject.
Note to ponder: Do your best and God will do the rest

THE PROBLEM-SOLVING PROCESS
In order to effectively manage and run a successful
organization, leadership must guide their
employees and develop problem-solving
techniques. Finding a suitable solution for issues
can be accomplished by following the basic four-
step problem-solving process and methodology
outlined below.
Mathematical Problem Solving

Polya created his famous four-step

process for problem solving, which is
used all over to aid people in problem
solving:
Step 1: Understand the problem.
Sometimes the problem lies in understanding the problem.
If you are unclear as to what needs to be solved, then you are
probably going to get the wrong results. In order to show an
understanding of the problem, you, of course, need to read
the problem carefully. Sounds simple enough, but some
people jump the gun and try to start solving the problem
before they have read the whole problem. Once the problem
is read, you need to list all the components and data that are
involved. This is where you will be assigning your variable.
Step 2: Devise a plan (translate).
When you devise a plan (translate), you come
up with a way to solve the problem. Setting
up an equation, drawing a diagram, and
making a chart are all ways that you can go
about solving your problem. In this tutorial,
we will be setting up equations for each
problem.
Step 3: Carry out the plan (solve).

The next step, carry out the plan

(solve), is big. This is where you
solve the equation you came up with
in your 'devise a plan' step.
Step 4: Look back (check and interpret).
You may be familiar with the expression 'don't look
back'. In problem solving it is good to look back
(check and interpret).. Basically, check to see if you
used all your information and that the answer
makes sense. If your answer does check out, make
sure that you write your final answer with the
correct labeling.
Detailed Application of Polya’s
Four Steps of Mathematical
Investigation
1. Define the problem
 Identify Data given
 Differentiate data needed from data given
 Specify underlying causes
 State the problem specifically
 Determine in which process the problem lies
 Avoid trying to solve the problem without data
2. Generate alternative solutions
 Analyze data needed
 Brainstorm on possible ways of solving
 Brainstorm on others' ideas
 List Down possible ways of solving and prepare
for the next step
 Seek alternatives that may solve the problem
3. Evaluate and select an alternative
 Evaluate all possible ways
 Evaluate alternatives relative to a target
standard
 Evaluate all alternatives without bias
 Evaluate both proven and possible
outcomes
4. Implement and follow up on the solution
 Evaluate final answer
 Check labeling of the final answer (unit
measure )
 Back solve the solution for checking
 Coincide the final answer with the main
question
