Easkey: Surf’s New Role Model Report.

Question 6: ‘Why does Easkey think that surfing


is male-dominated and what is she doing to
change this? Does it make her heroic in any
way?’
How You Would Answer Question 6.
Easkey thinks that surfing is male-dominated because
she says: ‘you only have to look at the world surf tour
and see what the guys get as prize money and see the
girls getting about half that’. To change this, she is
mentoring the ‘younger girls entering a male
dominated sport’. (This is using Point and Quote). It
makes her heroic… (And then you Explain).

will be in a folder called ‘Crescents’ under classwork in your English Google
Classroom.
