RECAP OF THE KEY MOMENT IN
BLOOD BROTHERS
• Mrs Lyons: The Wealthy Woman who cannot have children. Offers to bring one up
for Mrs Johnstone, her cleaner who is poor with many children and expecting
twins. Mrs Lyons offers to raise the other twin in her beautiful home with her husband
who has a good job. She highlights to Mrs Johnstone all the things this child could have
and makes her feel guilty to be bringing up more children in poverty. Mrs Johnstone
eventually agrees and a deal is made that she would keep it a secret from everyone,
including Mrs Lyon’s husband. Mrs Johnstone would also continue working for Mrs
Lyons so that she could see her little son.
• Key Moment: Mrs Lyons sacks Mrs Johnstone and refuses to let her
see Edward.
• This moment sets the drama in motion. It future-defining and a turning
point.
