Project Dachang National Palace is no doubt his another
masterpiece. Located in Dachang Hui Autonomous County,
Langfang, Hebei province, the project is supposed by the local
government to be an iconic design, introducing Dachang’s
particular culture and enhancing the soft power of the city

In the design of the project, Academician He Jingtang has also

carried out his concept of “2 Views” and “3 Characters”, with the
starting point of holistic view and sustainable development concept,
fully considering regionalism, cultural, and epochal character of
the architecture, therefore presents us an excellent design.

AUDITORIUM
Design a functioning Auditorium according to the type of
performance and the number of the audience

•200 seats: 270m² | 2,900 ft2

•150 seats: 190m² | 2,000 ft2 ENTRANCE LOBBY
•75 seats: 125 m² | 1,350 ft2 How many square feet per person standing? Six square feet
per person is a good rule of thumb for a standing crowd. If
you are planning a cocktail hour for 100 people who will all
be standing, you will multiply 100 by 6
to determine you need a venue with 600 square feet of
available and workable space for the event.
BANQUET HALL
On an average basis, each of your guests will
require space of 8 square feet (remember
personal space?). However, if it's a sit-down dinner, you
STORES
would have to give each guest 10-14 square feet to
accommodate the tables and chairs SHOP SIZES & LAYOUTS □12 to 15 ft wide by 50 to
60 ft long in large cities ; and 15 to 18 ft. wide by 60
to 80 ft long in smaller cities . □These dimensions
apply particularly to shops in 100 percent retail
districts .

376,740-square-foot Museum of Islamic Art rises from the sea,

COMMUNITY CENTER
M. A. C. Community Center / Made in Earth
The project originates from a partnership between Made in Earth and
Terre des Hommes Core Trust, an ONG which takes care of children
in troubles (abandoned or orphans, disabled or abused), giving them
a home, an education and possibly following till and through the
employment age.
The design approach of Made in Earth is quite pragmatic and
(possibly) not self-referential, that means trying not to impose
any pre-constituted idea: this helps, for instance, in the selection
of the materials, that are chosen keeping in mind their cost and
real availability, rather than a personal imagine of exotic
architecture.
Simplicity, both conceptual and constructive, was a fundamental
point.

The Community Hall (now M.A.C.) of Tiruvannamalai is one

of knots of this network. It’s a place where all the NGO
community (children, parents, tutors) can gather together and
also meet the other citizens of Tiruvannamalai. A place where
the ONG open itself to the whole town and tell its story: the
building had to contain a permanent exhibition of the NGO
evolution through the years, and occasionally guests public
events.
AREAS
The center offers adolescent girls & women from the
surrounding camp area- a place to have a good bath a day, a
place to complain about abuse and violence, and a place
where they can learn to create & share, thus a safe home.

The material and exterior scheme avoids

disturbance for elephants. The power of form is
universal and timeless. A very basic introvert
court ensures privacy & freedom for women of
comparatively a conservative society. The interior
court connects the surrounding rooms into one
space. The activity space & rooms are
comparatively smaller than other centers but
openings towards the courtyard give the essence of
a larger space.
RAMDAN MOON SIGNIFICANCE
The new moon also represents the Muslim calendar, which has 12 months each of 29 or 30 days. So in Islam the
lunar month and the calendar month coincide, and the new moon is eagerly awaited, especially at the end of the
month of Ramadan when its sighting means that the celebrations of 'Id al-Fitr can begin.

Create a space where the community come and visit to take a glance at moon.

Could add a telescope for star gazing and add more pleasure to the experience.
