WHAT IS CITIZENSHIP?

 Citizenship can be defined as membership of a


particular community or country and building good
relationships with people within the community. It
involves adhering to the rights laid down by the law
and living according to the social and moral
standards.
Privileges of the Filipino Citizens
 The right to travel with a Philippine passport
 The right to own real property in the Philippines
 The right to engage in Business & Commerce
 The right to practice one’s profession
Duties and Obligations of the Filipino Citizens
 To be loyal to the Republic
 To honor the Philippine flag
 To defend the State
 To contribute to State development and welfare
 To uphold the Constitution and obey the laws
 To cooperate with the duly constituted authorities in the
attainment and preservation of a just and orderly society
 To exercise rights responsibly and with due regard for the
rights of others
 To engage in gainful work
 To register and cast his vote
IMPORTANCE OF GOOD
CITIZENSHIP
 Good citizenship helps in supporting and
protecting the law
 Being a good citizen also helps to promote values,
liberty and equality, which are building blocks in
any community.

Therefore, as citizens of our country we should


balance our emphasis on duties and obligations to
become effective and helpful.
