Purpose

The purpose of this document is to explain how the bFO

data are sourced, filtered and transformed to show the
final figures in the EcoStruxure Opportunities dashboard.
For now, this detail of information is not directly accessible
from the dashboard itself.

General consideration on the technology
The dashboard is built with Einstein Analytics technology, which is the analytics tool imbedded in bFO.

The data is sourced exclusively from bFO. It’s gathered in a dataset which is calculated and updated every time the
dataflow runs.

On top of that, a lens is used to apply filters and grouping and generate the final results shown in a graph or table. The
lenses are built in SAQL language and are not directly visible from the dashboard. Here after some examples:

Technical field to recognize EcoStruxure Opportunities

According to EcoStruxure Business Rules, an Opportunity is recognized as EcoStruxure if

• CONDITION1: Its Opportunity Scope Attribute contains an EcoStruxure value
AND
• CONDITION2: One of its referenced Product Line is one of the Product Line or one of the Advisor recognized as
EcoStruxure

• CONDITION1 is easy to check. And there is an automatic EcoStruxure flag for Building, Machine, IT and Plant
domains.
• CONDITION2 is not direct and to overcome that we created 2 technical fields :
Opportunity EcoStruxure Domain and Opportunity Line EcoStruxure Domain.
• They are populated automatically by an overnight batch that check the value of the Product Line.
• They are valued by “EcoStruxure Grid”, “EcoStruxure IT” etc “EcoStruxure” word when there is at least one
Product Line that is defined as EcoStruxure according to EcoStruxure Business Rules
• They are hidden fields but can be accessed through reports
• They are updated when an Opportunity is cancelled or updated

Data filters
The following filters are applied in all the information shown in the dashboard

• Included in report: Dashboard shows only the opportunities marked as “Included in Reporting”
• To not delete: Dashboard shows only the opportunities marked as “To be deleted = false”
• Included in forecast: yes
• Opportunities whose Opportunity leader is inactive are ignored

• Opportunity Scope Attribute: It has to contain “EcoStruxure” word

• Opportunity EcoStruxure Domain: It has to contain “EcoStruxure” word. See Previous consideration on Data
• Opportunity Line EcoStruxure Domain : It has to contain “EcoStruxure” word. See Previous consideration on Data

• Other filters as Stages, Dates, Status etc are filtered differently in each report. Consult the help online Ii in the
dashboard itself as shown below as example:

Visibility & Exchange rate
• Visibility: Everybody see all the company’s data, except for Germany and China data :
• Germany: The Opportunities with Country=Germany are viewable and countable only for Users who belong to
Germany OR for the users who have a reportee who is part of the Opportunity’s team

• China: The Opportunities whom Country=China and Type=Standard are viewable and countable only for the
Users that belong to China OR for the users who have a reportee who is part of the Opportunity’s team

• EA Business Analyst  see all bFO data, including Germany and China. Similar to CEO role.

• Exchange rate : The amounts of the closed or open opportunities are converted from the original currency into a target
currency by using the current date exchange rate (and not the dated exchange rate in effect on the opportunity
close date). This is similar to what is done in bFO.

• Child / Parent:
• The revenue calculation takes into account all the parents which are respecting the rules
• Since July release, In Non-Compliance sections of the dashboard, we consider only the Opportunities lines
where Line type = Parent.

In the example, we capture all the Opportunities related to EcoStruxure either in scope
attribute (5) or in Opportunity Line EcoStruxure Domain (6).

After the extraction, this report will typically require manipulating the data to recognize those
which:
- EcoStruxure-compliant (5 AND 6)
- “Non Compliant” (6 but not 5)

If an Opportunity is modified in bFO, this opportunity will be represented accordingly in the dashboard 2 days after, accordingly to the below
schedule. Last dashboard updates datetime appear on the top right corner of the dashboard
