POINT OF VIEW

 The Kundiman Communications Corporation


(KCC) is a local company with more than 2,000
persons in its payroll. And the VP of the
Operation assign Engr. Engineer Lorenzo de
Guzman, an electronics engineering graduate, to
be the head of the freshly constructed
telecommunications facility in Antipolo, Rizal.
Engr. De Guzman was only given three months to
completely manage the facility, and if he
succeeds, he may be promoted based on his work.
TIME CONTEXT

 Engr. De Guzman was given 3 months to make


the new facility completely operational.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

 Engr. De Guzman is not confident enough on his


expertise on recruiting qualified persons to
occupy the various positions that will be
created.
 Engr. De Guzman does not even have
information on the number and nature of the
positions to be created.
OBJECTIVES

 Hire some of his friends in Human Resources


Planning to help him gain information and
recruiting suitable personnel for the new facility.
 To hire qualified and skilled personnel for the
position required in the new facility.
 To identify the number of position to be created
to make the new facility operational.
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION

 Finances of the whole expenses to run the new facility.


 Position to be made and its nature and number of
personnel to recruited.
 Recruitment for the qualified personnel in needed
position.
 Training for the new recruits to understand the
operation and further understanding of their work in the
new facility.
ASSUMPTIONS

 The Company approved the request to transfer


employees to work in the new facility to help him,
especially employees in Human Resources.
 Financial support in every activities that will be
made for the new facility to be operational.
 Recruiting competent and qualified personnel.
ALTERNATIVE COURSE/S OF ACTION

 Prepare a staffing procedure and hire professional staffer.


 Ask someone with expertise in telecommunication
management for the position needed and the nature of it.
 Avail service in a recruitment firm for hiring qualified
personnel for the position.
CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION

Engr. De Guzman should hire Human Resource Manager in assessing the


applicants to see how reliable they are. He could also request to transfer some of
his colleagues to help him, offering with the same position. Identifying the
nature of the various positions is the first thing before they start recruiting.
Planning and gathering information for the nature and number of the position
needed in the recruitment.
Placement and orientation for the new recruits, letting them know there
position based on their abilities and to inform them the different facets of the
position and company. Training and development for imparting knowledge for a
specific job. With a through and carefully planned out training process, an
employee will be ready to do the job.
PLAN OF ACTION

 Engr. De Guzman should identify the nature of the positions to


be created.
 Then he could hire a Human Resource Manager to handle
assessing the applicants that are mostly qualified for the
position.
 After the recruitment they prepare for the orientation of the
new recruits.
 Lastly, new recruits undergo a training to be ready for the job.
