Statement of the
Problem
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of Distance
Learning?

• What are the effects of Social Media on the academic

performance of the students?

• What are the challenges faced by the students during

Online learning?
Target Respondents

• Library Information Science (LIS) students in Bulacan

State University.
Significance of the Study

This Research is undertaken to find out the effects of social

media to the academic performance of the students and to
know the advantage and disadvantage of it and learn some
techniques on how to handle this kind of distraction during
discussion.
This study will Benefits the following:

• Students - This study will help the students to use our time
management effectively and on what ways we can use and
not use social media in terms of academic performance.

• Teachers - This proposed study will help the teachers to

have techniques and limitations to the students while they
are teaching to avoid distractions on the part of the
students.
• Future Researchers - The outcome of this study can be a
basis and reference for neither future or present researchers
to gain more information.

Introduction
Blended learning is a teaching style
that combines technology and
digital media with traditional teacher
classroom activities, allowing
students to adjust their learning
experiences. (Panopto, 2019). and

presence of both the teacher and

the student, as well as some
student control over time, place,
path, or site. (Quigley, 2019).
Blended learning allows for
flexible time plans, improves learning
outcomes, empowers students to
take responsibility for their own
learning, allows students to use
current technology, opens the door
for instructor understudy association,
increases understudy inclusion in
learning, changes the instructional
environment into one that is more
adaptable, and allows for
advancement and consistent
improvement. Furthermore, blended
learning creates new opportunities to Photo By: eLearning Industry
improve the reputation of higher
education institutions while lowering
operating costs (Hipol, et al. 2020).
Statement of the
Problem
• Would blended learning be effective than online learning?

• Did the students learn anything from their course despite

of online learning?

• What are the reasons for the undergraduate students to

enroll or not to enroll during this blended learning?
Target Respondents

• Library Information Science (LIS) students in Bulacan

State University.
Significance of the Study

This Research tends to find out how helpful and effective

blended learning during this pandemic specifically for the
students of LIS.
This study will Benefits the following:

• Students - We can have awareness and additional

knowledge about blended learning and how does this new
normal education helps us in our current study.

• Teachers - This research will assist teachers in determining

what obstacles students may have in blended learning so
that they may properly comprehend and manage their
classes.
• Future Researchers – They can gain significance in this
study. It may serve as their guidance and they can make
this as a starting point to have a building blocks to a bigger
research.
