INTRODUCTION
In this year, as pandemic came we all experience the new normal set up. And as a result, all of
us suffered including students. The purpose of this research isto see how modular learning affects
students. This will allow us to determine if the effect will be favorable or harmful for them.
Through this study, we will be able to determine the effectiveness of modular learning to
every senior high school students in Saint Peter's College of Toril. This research aims to
determine whether or not modular learning is beneficial to senior high school students. Modular
learning is a new approach to education that has emerged as a result of the new normal. In this
way, students won't have to be exposed or go to school to study this way; they won't have to
figure out on how to acquire a strong internet connection, and they won't have to buy gadgets.
This study will benefit many people, including students, instructors, the community and parents.
Discoveries portrayed that understudies educated through secluded methodology acquired higher
mean score in educator made general perception based test than understudies instructed through
customary approach.Through instructing that understudy gets comfortable with the qualities and
way pushed and given need by the general public. It is a capable movement, and applies
information, and logical standards to the motivation behind setting a climate to work with
learning.
Modular learning also emerged as the most favored learning style in a public secondary
school in San Carlos District, Pangasinan. Students cited the lack of available gadgets and
internet access as the key reasons why they chose modular learning over online learning,
according to their local LESFs. (Pierce Manlangit, Alyssa Melody Paglumotan, & Shane Carmie
Sapera, 2020). In addition to them, Modular learning is a type of distance learning based on the
most important learning competencies (MELCS) given by DepEd that uses Self-Learning
Modules (SLM). The
modules contain sections on motivation and evaluation that serve as a complete guide to the
skills needed by both teachers and students. Via home visits (following social distancing
protocols) and input processes, teachers can track the progress of learners and direct those who
need special attention.
While in Davao City, as classes start for elementary and senior high in public and private
schools on Monday, October 5, a Lumad farmer in Barangay Tawan-tawan says he is worried
over the modular distance learning (MDL) set-up, as he might not be able to teach his children
well this school-year. But his worries notwithstanding, Angalan vowed to do his best for the sake
of his children’s future. In a remote area like Barangay Tawan-Tawan where there is phone and
internet connectivity is poor, MDL is the preferred mode. This learning modality allows learners
to use printed or digital self-learning modules (SLMs) and other learning resources like
textbooks, activity sheets, study guides. (Gumba, R. 2020)
