5.1 Hospital/ Clinic


• A place or room for medical observation, consultation, and treatment of patients
in a hospital

5.1 Hospital/Clinic
• Hospital is an institution that is built, staffed, and equipped for the diagnosis of
disease; for the treatment, both medical and surgical, of the sick and the injured;
and for their housing during this process. Hospitals are also used for medical
research and teaching. Clinics typically provide non-emergency outpatient care
that's routine or preventive.
5.1.1 Public

A public hospital or government hospital is a hospital which is owned by a government and receives
government funding. This type of hospital provides medical carefree of charge, the cost of which is
covered by the funding the hospital receives.

5.1.1 Public:

Public hospitals are owned by governments and play an important role in the healthcare system,
providing care for patients who may have limited access or financial means to seek medical care
elsewhere. Public hospitals provide medical care for individuals both locals and foreign throughout the
country.

5.1.2 Private

A private hospital is a hospital owned by a for-profit company or a non-profit organization and privately
funded through payment for medical services by patients themselves, by insurers, governments through
national health insurance programs, or by foreign embassies

5.1.2 Private:

Private hospitals are built and managed by commercial organizations although some may be run by
charity or non-profit organizations. They are financially managed by self-paying patients and insurers.

A medical centre that provides medical education and training to future and current health
professionals.

A training hospital is affiliated with a medical school, is used to train doctors, and often is involved in
research. At a teaching hospital, medical students in their final years of studying undergo practical
housemanship in patient care treatment.

5.2 Rehab Centre

A centre or clinic where helps people with physical impairments and functional disabilities recover
and regain top form again

Rehabilitation Centres , also referred to as inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, are devoted to the
rehabilitation of patients with various neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopedic and other medical
conditions following stabilisation of their acute medical issues.
5.3 Dialysis Centre

A centre  where people get the treatment that filters and purifies the blood using a machine

Dialysis Centre is normally situated in a hospital, clinic or private locations where treatment to
replace the function of our kidneys by cleansing the blood-removing waste and excess water when
one has kidney failure.

5.4 Institution

A centre is responsible for collecting, processing, and supplying blood and blood products for the

Centre creating and maintaining a safe and adequate supply of blood after appropriate screening
complying to international standards. Ensuring optimal patient care through the use of blood from
donors to save the lives of others.

5.6 Laboratory

A place specially designed for scientific or medical experiments

Is a facility that provides controlled conditions in which scientific or technological research,


experiment and measurement may be performed. Laboratory services are provided in a variety
of settings: physicians’ offices, clinics, hospitals, and regional and national referral centres.
6. CATEGORY OF HEALTHCARE FACILITIES AREA

6.1 SPECIALISED AREA

6.1.1 Operational Theatre


• A place or room specially designed for surgical activities in a hospital

6.1.1.Operation theatre
• An operating theatre (also known as an operating room (OR), operating suite, or operation
suite) is a facility within a hospital where surgical operations are carried out in an aseptic
environment.

6.1.2 ICU
• A room or unit specially designed to treat patient under critical condition

6.1.2 ICU
• Intensive care units refers to the hospital wards or rooms were specialized close observation is
given to patients who are acutely unwell and require critical medical care. An intensive care
unit (ICU) provides the critical care and life support for acutely ill and injured patients.

6.2 MEDICAL AREA

6.2.1 Ward
• A place or room provided in a hospital for people who are under medical treatment
(for serious or infected cases)

6.2.2 Clinic
• A place or room for medical observation, consultation, and treatment of patients
in a hospital
6.3 GENERAL AREA

6.3.1 Lobby
• Common space provided for patients, staff, and visitors to get access from one
place to another
• Hospital lobbies are where people check in for appointments, wait to receive care,
or pass through on their way to visit a loved one. Traditionally, hospital lobbies
have included a front desk, ample seating, and perhaps an adjoining space to grab
a coffee or tea.

6.3.2 Stairways
• Common staircases provided in the general areas for patients, staff, and visitors to
get access from one floor to another

6.3.4 Office
• A room or other area where people work to perform administrative work in order to
support and realize goals of the organization.
15. STRATEGIC REQUIREMENT

15.1 Pandemic
• The strategy to handle the global pandemic is conservation of the staff and resources is
essential. Allocate resources appropriately while anticipating future supply and demand such
as beds, PPE, and ventilators as well as preserving the health of the healthcare workers.

15.2 Special Disaster


• This Disaster Management Strategy focuses on preventing destruction from (natural) disasters
through advocacy, prevention, knowledge management, better coordination, capacity building
strategies, and better preparedness through advanced emergency response.

15.3 Force Majeure


• Both Parties shall not be responsible for any failure or delay in complying with the terms of
this Agreement (save and except payment obligation), where such failure or delay is due to
force majeure. The term “force majeure” as used herein shall include but not be restricted to
acts of God, epidemics, tidal waves, explosions, fires, lightning, earthquakes, hurricanes,
wars, riots, civil disturbances, strikes, unlawful disorders, acts of government, or any other
event which is unpredictable, sudden, insurmountable and beyond the reasonable control of
the Parties.
12.2If either Party’s performance of its obligations under this Agreement (save and except payment
obligation) is affected by Force Majeure, then:

12.2.1 It shall notify the other Party in writing as soon as practicable of any anticipated delay due
to Force Majeure;

12.2.2 Both Parties will use all reasonable endeavors to mitigate the effect of Force Majeure on
the performance of this Agreement; 

12.2.3 The performance of the obligations herein (save and except payment obligation) shall be
deemed suspended for a period equal to the delay caused by such Force Majeure;

12.2.4 The non-performing Party shall as soon as reasonably possible resume performance of their
obligations under the terms of this Agreement upon the Force Majeure event ends.

12.3If such Force Majeure continues for more than thirty (30) days, then both Party shall enter into
bona fide discussion with a view to alleviate its affects or to agree upon such alternative
arrangement or to mutually terminate this Agreement forthwith WHEREUPON in the event of
termination, any money due and outstanding as of the date of termination by either Party shall be
paid to the other Party and this Agreement shall be terminated and neither Party shall have any
further claims and/ or rights against the other but without prejudice to the respective Party’s right
in respect of any antecedent breach of any covenant or condition herein contained.
15.4 Field Hospital
• A field hospital is a temporary hospital or mobile medical unit set up during
disaster or pandemic to provide medical care to the public when hospitals are
unable to accommodate the excess numbers of patients.  

15.5 Quarantine Hospital/ Station


• Quarantine Hospitals and Stations are part of a comprehensive Quarantine System
that serves to limit the introduction of infectious diseases into the country by
oversea travellers or citizen returning home during pandemic. Internally, identified
clusters are isolated and housed at these stations for a specified period of time to
monitor and ensure the PUS/PUI are confirmed negative before being discharged.
