• What are Language Skills?
• When we learn a language, there are four
skills that we need for complete
communication.
• When we learn our native language, we
usually learn to listen first, then to
speak, then to read, and finally to write.
These are called the four "language skills"

• Learning Reading:
• There are three main ways in which computers are useful
in helping language learners develop reading skills;
• 1- Incidental reading: Almost all CALL programs, whether
oriented towards reading or not, involve the learners in
reading text for a real purpose: the successful completion
of the activity.
• 2. Reading comprehension. Traditional question-and-
answer CALL programs can be used for reading
comprehension as well as grammar and vocabulary
development.

• 3. Text manipulating. There are a number of
ways in which computers can manipulate
continuous text which involve the learner in
close study of content and structure of text.
• For example;
• Scrambled sentences- Scrambled paragraphs.

• 4. Reading software such as Reading Speed: It is
a software that displays the text line by line or
word by word.

• There are three level of Writing:
• 1.Controlled Writing:
• a. Scrambled words:
Reads – she – book – the

Scrambled sentences – Scrambled text.
• b. Joining sentences
