ASEAN
The term southeast Asia was first introduced by
allied forces residing in southeast Asia at the time
under the command of southeast Asia. As for the
southeast Asia commando region, these are the
countries now myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia,
Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, brunei, Philippines
and Indonesia. In the early 1960's, southeast Asia
wasa region of intense conflict and disunity. This is
because of the powerful influence of countries outside
the region that grips most countries in southeast
Asia.
Indonesia, which embraces non-block policy, has
expressed no interest in joining the asa. Major
factors are already Thailand and the Philippines
themselves with the seato (south east Asia treaty
organization) initiated by the United States and what
terms Malaysia is still under British control.
Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves in the second
quarter of 2007 showed a surplus of us $3.6 billion,

The improved relations between Indonesia and Malaysia
and Singapore, and Malaysia with the Philippines, gave
rise to the thought of building a new regional cooperation

Leaving the context of its birth, the first three
reasons that underlie the meeting: the desire to
promote the economic, social, and cultural
development of the region through cooperative
programs. Maintaining the region's political and
economic stability from major state rivals provides
forums for solving intra-regional differences.
On his way asean was threatened by two major issues:
Crisis in March 1968. Because of a crisis called the
corregidor affairs, tensions arose in the relationship of
Malaysia and the Philippines. When the Singapore
government sentenced two Indonesian kko (Marine corps)
members who were caught while sabotaged in indonesian-
malaysia confrontation in October 1968. What is unique
about the asean organization is that for forty years,
existence and form of cooperation was effective even
without the constitution, charter, or legal charter. Sean is
only moving on the establishment document of the 1967
Bangkok declaration.
In the general sense, asean community will be
established under the support of three pillars, which
is: political co-operation and security of economic
co-operation, social and cultural, where all three
contribute to the goal of creating a peaceful, stable,
and prosperous region.
Since the 2003 renewal of the asean ix summit in
Bali, progress has been under way for this asean
community summit, i.e., 2004, the asean x summit
in vientiane, Laos, has agreed on actions plan (poa)
for asc and ascc of the alsean xi summit in Kuala
Lumpur in 2005 giving birth to the Kuala Lumpur
declaration for charter for asean. The rupiah's
