KEADAAN/KEJADIAN/PERISTIWA DI
WAKTU YANG AKAN DATANG.
A. THE MEANING

• Conditional sentence type 3 or third conditional adalah

suatu kalimat yang digunakan ketika result/consequence
(hasil) dari condition (syarat) tidak ada kemungkinan
terwujud karena kondisinya harus sudah terpenuhi dimasa
lalu.
B. THE PATTERN

• Bagian conditional clause (if + condition) menggunakan past perfect tense.

Sedangkan main clause (result) menggunakan perfect modal ( modal + have
+ past participle)
• So, kalo ditulis rumusnya adalah :
= If + Past Perfect (S+Had+V3), S + modal (would, should, could, might)+
have + V3
C. THE EXAMPLES :
• 1. “if you had remembered to invite me, i would have attended your party”
( jika kamu ingat mengundang saya, saya akan hadir dipestamu)
FAKTA : “but you didn’t remember to invite me” (tapi kamu tidak ingat)
IF YOU HADN’T COME TO MY HOUSE, I WOULDN’T HAVE MADE SOME CAKES
FACT : BUT YOU CAME TO MY HOUSE
2. “if the waitress had been carefulI, she wouldn’t have broken many plates”
(jika pelayan tersebut hati-hati, dia tidak akan memecahkan banyak piring)
FAKTA :
“But the waitress wasn’t carefull” (tapi pelayan tersebut tidak hati-hati)

• 1. “ If he had asked you for forgiveness, would you have forgiven him?”
FAKTA :..................................................................?????
The answer is “ but he didn’t ask you for forgiveness
2. “If you had saved your gold in a safety deposit box, it wouldn’t have gone”
FAKTA :....................................................................????
The answer is “but you didn’t save your gold in a safety deposit box”
3. “I would have been happy if you had called me on my birthday”
FAKTA :...........................................????
The answer is “ but you didn’t call me on my birthday”
