A PROJECT EXPLAINING APPLICATION OF VALUE ENGINEERING:

 A RESEDENTIAL TOWER SITUATED AT AHMEDABAD (INDIA)

CONSISTING OF 4 TOWERS THAT ARE 7 STORIES HIGH
DESIGNED AS 2BHK AND 3BHK TYPE FLATS. THE OVERALL
COST OF PROJECT INCLUDING ACTIVITIES LIKE
INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT, STRUCTURAL WORK
MASONRY WORK, ELECTRICAL WORK AND FINISHING WORK
WAS AROUND 5 CRORES. A DETAILED ANALYSIS IS CARRIED
OUT BY A TEAM OF ENGINEERS WHICH APPLY VALUE
ENGINEERING THERE. ANALYSIS SHOWED THAT MOST OF
EXPENDITURE WAS ON SUPER STRUCTURE AS COMPARED TO
OTHER AS PER PLANNED BOQS. THERE WERE ABOUT
ROUGHLY 38,250 AAC BLOCKS USED IN THE
SUPERSTRUCTURE.

  It was devised that those blocks were replaced by
other types of bricks of same consistency and
strength then a significant amount of cost will be
reduced.
 In same way, there a RCC road was going to
construct. So it was devised that replacing RCC road
with paver block will reduce the cost significantly.
 In same way it was devised that using local materials
instead of out station materials (crush ,aggregates)
will also lower the estimated cost of project.
 many overlapping bars were replaced by coupler
joints which significantly lower the no overlapping
bars. These methods significantly reduced the net
cost of project
