” La Castel” Landscape Reservation

 The landscape reservation "La Castel" is a protected area, located near the village of
Gordinești, along the Racovățului valley, on a strip 200 m wide and 5 km long, in Edineț
district, Republic of Moldova (Edineț forest district, Gordinești , plots 29-35). It has an area of
​746 ha. The object is managed by two institutions: Edineț State Forestry (646 ha) and
Gordinești Village City Hall (100 ha).
 The natural area includes the steep slopes of the Racovăț river valley. It is among the deepest
gorges in the Republic of Moldova, many caves serving as a refuge for eagles and reptiles.
There is a surface outcrop of the toltric limestone from the fossil remains of the fauna. The
area is a monument of the culture of primitive man. The natural area is framed in the hilly
floor of hill ridges with two types of resort: hilly ridges of lower productivity, excessive
erosion, with erodisols and muddy clay soils, large edaphic; hilly oaks with oak and oak
groves of high and medium productivity, plateaus, slightly sloping slopes, large edaphic gray.
Three types of forest have been identified:forest-steppe oak with combinations of low
productivity xerophytic oaks; goruneto-oak with cherry, medium productivity; stejăreto-
goruneto-şleau, superior productivity; stejăreto-goruneto-şleau, medium productivity.
The "Little Switzerland" Reservation

 In Fetești village, Edineț district you will be surprised by a real landscape masterpiece. The
"Little Switzerland" reservation is a true monument of nature, it has steep limestone cliffs,
which have a height of up to 300 meters.
 Fetești Gorge is a geological or paleontological nature monument in Edinet district, Republic
of Moldova. It is located southwest of the village of Fetești, near the G15 road route (Lopatnic-
Edineț).It has an area of ​68 ha according to the Law of Protected Areas or 38.4 ha according to
more recent measurements. The object is administered by the City Hall of Fetești village.
 The first to describe the gorge was the geologist and paleontologist Alexandru Mihalski.
 The Fetești gorge appeared due to the action of the Draghiște river on the reef massif. It is
considered one of the most picturesque gorges in the Toltrele Prutului area. Together with the
Burlănești and Trinca gorges, it forms the Trinca – Fetești – Burlănești natural complex in the
Draghiște river basin.
