What is Snack Vending machine ?

A snack vending machine is food vending machines that provide shelf-stable foods such as chips,
cookies, cakes and other such snacks are common.  A vending machine dispenses a product to the users
based on the amount of money inserted and selection of the product. Vending machine is a 24x7
standalone unit which requires a standard power supply connection to function. It consist of simple
electro-mechanical systems which helps to automate the entire vending process. In a nutshell, its basic
function is to flawlessly issue users with a diverse range of products anytime. Customers see exactly
what they are getting when they make choices from snack vending machines.
 
History of Vending Machine
The earliest known reference to a vending machine is in the work of Hero of Alexandria, an engineer and
mathematician in first-century Roman Egypt. His machine accepted a coin and then dispensed 
holy water. When the coin was deposited, it fell upon a pan attached to a lever. The lever opened a valve
which let some water flow out. The pan continued to tilt with the weight of the coin until it fell off, at
which point a counterweight snapped the lever up and turned off the valve.

a. Parts and Function of Vending Machine

The functions of parts of this machine as follow:

 
i. Bill Acceptor : the device that accepts and reads cash by denomination
in order to accurately register customer credits.
ii. Pick-up box with drop sensor : the snacks that have been selected will
falls in an open compartment at the bottom.
iii. Coin Return : if the coin cannot be traced or you have balanced , the
coin will be issued on coin return.
iv. Coin Slot : insert coin.
v. Keypad : The numpad’s key are digit 0-9 , used to enter the code.
vi. Display : used in touch screen vending machine applications.
b. A steps of using Vending Machine
 
First, insert some coins into the coin slot.

Next ,type in the code or press the button for your item.

Then, Check the coin chute for any change.

After that , the snacks that have been selected will falls in an open compartment at the bottom.

Finally , open the pick -up box, then grab a snack from the vending machine.
 c. Safety Issues

 
I. Do not insert objects other than coins into the coin slot because it can cause malfunction to the machine .

II. Never shake the vending machine as it can cause the machine to fall, smashing anything in its path.

III. You should wait until the food come out , never put your hands in the pick-up box before your snack fell into the pick-up box.

IV. You must not try to steal snack from the vending mechine .

V. Always check the expiration dates on any snack item you receive from a vending machine.

Advantanges
1. They give customers a free choice to purchase products at any time of the day.

2. They are convenient and time saving because we don’t have to go out and leave to buy a food or snacks outside the office or schools and get
back to work quickly.

3. Vending machines are low maintenance. They will determine the best placement and products for you business and will ensure your
machine is always stocked and running at its best.
 
Disadvantages
4. The prices are fixed, so we need to provide exactly enough money.

5. Vandalism of the machinery by unruly people is also very high and may cause a huge loss to the vendor.

6. If your machine is located in a building or office with just a handful of employees, The food may get stale since the vendor refilling the
machine may not restock it as often.
