A. FISHES
-can be raised inside or outside your home.
Raising fishes inside your house is called
indoor aquaculture. The following are the
possible indoor fishes that you can raise at
home.
• TILAPIA
is one of the easiest to grow at home. It grows
fast in warmer climate. One of the advantages
of raising this fish is that it is resistant to
diseases and parasites.
2. TROUT
requires precise water conditions. It
grows quickly as well.
3. CATFISH
grows quickly and is resistant to diseases
and parasites.
4.BASS
-is suitable to grow in cages, but is
harder to raise. Fingerlings need close
monitoring as large bass fishes have the
tendency to eat the smaller ones. To
prevent this happening, prepare a
separate fish tank or aquarium for
smaller fishes.
THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME TERMS THAT
YOU SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH WHEN
RAISING FISHES AT HOME:
A. Fry- refers to baby fishes that are less than a week old.
B. Fingerling - refers to young fishes to young fishes with three to four
months of age.
C. Yearling- refers to fishes that are under one year old.

• Purchase a suitable fish tank or aquarium
• Set an air pump system
• Provide proper lighting
• Add thermometer to monitor the water temperature.
