Atheroma
• Atheroma is the build up of fatty deposits,
mainly LDL cholesterol (“bad cholesterol”)
which forms within the endothelium of an
artery. It can also be called a plaque..
• Once you have an atheroma in your artery you
have the disease known as atherosclerosis.
