THE IMPORTANCE 03

OF FOOD AND 04
NUTRITION TO OUR
BODY 05

Our bodies are our gardens, to which our wills

are our gardeners. -William Shakespeare 06
01
What are the possible questions:
1. Is sugar (or salt or fat) the biggest problem in our diets? 02
- No single nutrient or ingredient is the cause of poor diets. We live in an environment where highly
palatable and cheap food is available everywhere. Pizza, chips, pastries and soda are dietary staples, 03
and the average American gets almost 60 percent of their daily calories from such ultra-processed
foods.
04
2, Why is food and nutrition important?

- People with healthy eating patterns live longer and are at lower risk for serious health problems such 05
as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. For people with chronic diseases, healthy eating can
help manage these conditions and prevent complications.
06
3. What is the importance of go glow and grow foods to our body ?

- It's important to include 'Go' foods at all meals and especially breakfast so that our body and brain
can get ready for the busy school day ahead. Grow Foods help our body grow bigger and stronger.
'Glow foods help build our body's bones, teeth and muscles.
What is all about? 01
Nutrition means getting the food and nourishment that you need for health and growth.Without nutrition, we
grow weak, sick and at the very worst can even die. We miss developmental milestones and can’t put our
bodies through the daily mental and physical tasks that we need them to. We aren’t able to grow and may 02
also be unable to reproduce . 8

01

What are the possible questions:

02
1. How does globalization affect food security?
03
-The nutrition transition, implicated in the rapid rise of obesity and diet-related chronic diseases worldwide, is
rooted in the processes of globalization. Globalization affects the nature of the food supply chain, thereby
altering the quantity, type, cost, and desirability of foods available for consumption. 04
2.how is globalization beneficial in food technology?
05
-Forces manifested by globalization, such as market and trade liberalization, capital flow, and urbanization,
have changed the nature of our food systems by increasing the diversity and affordability of food, but also by
changing its quality and nutritional value. 06
3.how important is global food security?

-It helps to enhance the productivity and consecutively the production of food. It can assist in providing
opportunities for income generation. And, it generally provides improvement of nutritional advice through
home economics programmed and enhances the quality of rural life by way of community development.

What is all about?

02

03
Food security is the ability to obtain consistent access to the food needed for a
healthy life, acquired by culturally accepted methods. Food security and food
access are concepts that deeply affect the standard of living for countries, 04
households, and individuals. Food security needs to be viewed as important
elements of the geographical, economic, and political landscape of both
05
developed and developing worlds. Factors that are important to food security are
the proximity of grocery stores, available transportation, and affordable and
healthy foods 06

-Hippocrates
01
What are the possible questions:
1. What is the good benefits of organic food? 02
-Not only does organic production help reduce public health risks, mounting evidence shows that food grown
organically are rich in nutrients, such as Vitamin C, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus, with less exposure to 03
nitrates and pesticide residues in organically grown fruits, vegetables, and grains when compared to

2. Why organic food is important? 04

Cloudy Rainy
-Organic foods promote more humane treatment of animals, as well as providing meat that is free from
hormones and antibiotics. Also, some people worry about the long-term health, economic and environmental 05
consequences of GM foods and choose organic foods in support of an industry that does not use GM
techniques
06
3. Is organic food more nutritious than regular food?

-Organic foods are not healthier, per se, in terms of nutrients. You are still getting the same benefits in
conventionally grown foods as you are in organic foods Storm Sunny
What is all about? 01
One of the primary reasons for purchasing organic food is the perception that it is more nutritious than conventional
food. Given the increasing interest towards organic food products, it is imperative to review the existing literature
concerning the nutritional value of the produce, and to determine to what extent are consumer expectations met.  02

THE MOST EFFECTIVE 04

WAYS
05
OF REDUCING FOOD
WASTE
We fill our refrigerators to the point that we
can’t possibly eat everything before it goes 06
bad.
–– Tristram Stuart
What are the possible questions: 01

1. What is an effective way to reduce food waste? 02

-The most effective ways of reducing food waste are pickling, drying, canning, fermenting, freezing and curing are
all methods you can use to make food last longer, thus reducing waste. Not only will these methods shrink your 03
carbon footprint, they will save you money as well. What's more, most preservation techniques are simple and can be
fun.
04
2. What might be some benefits of reducing food waste?

- It can conserve energy and resources, preventing pollution involved in the growing, manufacturing, transporting, 05
and selling food (not to mention hauling the food waste and then landfilling it)

3. What problems does food waste cause? 06

- Wasted food isn't just a social or humanitarian concern—it's also an environmental concern. When we waste food,
we also waste all the energy and water it takes to grow, harvest, transport, and package it. And if food goes to the
landfill and rots, it produces methane—a greenhouse gas even more potent than carbon dioxide.

What is all about?
Putting unsold food at good use is clearly a high-priority option according to the Food Waste Hierarchy, but
we still know relatively little about the antecedents, strategies, and processes that make it possible within
companies. This paper aims at explaining how food manufacturers can prevent the degradation of
generated surplus food into waste .
