Climate Change

What is Climate Change?

The Causes of Climate
Change
Nature Contributions

Natural processes are always

influencing the earth’s climate
and can explain climate
changes prior to the Industrial
Revolution in the 1700s.
However, recent climate
changes cannot be explained
by natural causes alone.
Human Contributions

Scientists believe humans’

activities contribute to climate
change because we depend on
fossil fuels for our energy needs.
“A large amount of climate
change happens widely because
we are burning fossil fuels and
that increases gases such as
CO2, methane, and some other
gases in the atmosphere”
Greenhouse Gases

Gases that trap heat in

the atmosphere are
called greenhouse
gases. Carbon dioxide
and
chlorofluorocarbons
are examples of
greenhouse gases.
