Definition of Media
Broadcasting
Broadcasting is a process of sending signals to various locations
simultaneously via satellite, radio, television, data communication on the
network, etc. It can also be defined as a server-to-client service that
spreads data to several clients simultaneously with sufficient access.
History of Media
Broadcasting
The history of world broadcast media can be divided into two. The first is
broadcast media as a technological invention and the history of broadcast media as
an industry. The history of broadcast media as technology begins with the story of
radio by technical experts in Europe and America. The first radio station appeared
in 1920 when an engineer named Frank Conard was in Pittsburgh. The radio
station was later named KDKA. In 1945, first recorded that an amateur named
Gunawan succeeded in broadcasting the text of the proclamation of Indonesian
independence. Then on 9 July 1968, the Republic of Indonesia Amateur Radio
Organization (ORARI) was established, and on 11 September 1945, RRI
(Republic of Indonesia Radio) was based.
Prosess of Media Broadcasting
Broadcasting is determined by three elements that produce broadcasts, namely:
1. Studio.
2. Transmitter.
In the production of information, the studio as the event supplier is divided into two
major categories, namely:a.
a. live events, for example, music programs, variety shows, news & news, etc.
b. recording (events, programs that are recorded in advance, both non-drama programs
such as music, sports and news, and drama programs.
3. Recipient.
These three elements are then referred to as the broadcast trilogy. The combination of the
three will then produce a broadcast that can be received by radio and television receivers.
