Nanorobotics
What does meant by Nanorobotic?
Nanorobots are nano devices used for the
purpose of maintaining and protecting the
human body against pathogens. Nanorobots are
implemented by using several components such
as sensors, actuators, control, power,
communication and by interfacing cross-special
scales between organic inorganic systems.
Size
 50-100 Nanometers
(nm) wide
 Carry out a very specific
function
 Can be used very
effectively
Advantages
The advantages of nanobots and nanomedicines are
enormous.. .
 Exremely durable
 Can operate for years
 No damage (owing to their miniature size)
Inventor
The first scientist to
mention the term
“nanobots” was the
physicist Richard
Feyman in 1959;
when he gave his
popular talk “there is
plenty of room at the
bottom”.
Types

The overview outline three main types of Nanorobotics;

 Helices
 Nanorods
 DNA nanorobots

 Overall, helical
nanorobots are a
promising new tool for
getting real time
mechanical data from

Naorods
Nanorods can be used to target
cancer cells inside the human
body. Because they generate
heat when excited with infrared
light, they can be locally heated,
destroying cancerous tissue and
leaving healthy cells intact.

These DNA
nanorobots do so by
seeking out and
injecting cancerous
tumors with drugs
that can cut off their
blood supply,
shriveling them up
and killing them.
