PASSIVE VOICE
11th grade of vocational high school
WHAT IS PASSIVE VOICE?
The passive voice is used when we want to emphasize the
action (the verb) and the object of a sentence rather than
subject.
This means that the subject is either less important than the
action itself or that we don’t know who or what the subject is.
Why we use passive voice?
1. We don’t want to say who or what did the
action.
2. We don’t know who did the action.
3. The object is more interesting or important than
the subject

We will eat delicious instant noodle. Delicious instant noodle will be eaten
by us
Steps of make the passive voice/ passive sentence
1. Identify subject, verb and object in active sentence.
Example: He writes a text message.

2. Move the object in active sentence into the subject in the
passive sentence.
3. Identify the tense used in active sentence
4. add verb participle (V3 )and add by …. (Subject from
active sentence)
