TYPES OF RESERVATIONS
Guaranteed – with valid payment attached to it,
“guarantees” that the hotel will not cancel the
reservation at 6 PM (usual cancellation time), and
allows the guest to check in at a later time without
having to inform the hotel of late arrival.

Non-guaranteed – no cc or other form of payment


attached to it as back up. Without properly
guaranteeing a reservation, the reservation will be put
on a “6 PM hold” and cancelled after 6 PM

in the hotel, which contributes 70-80%

yet checked by the supervisor.

VD Vacant Dirty The guest has checked out and the room is
ready for cleaning

HSUD House Use The room is occupied by non paying person


Dirty (usually from the hotel) and the room is not yet
clean
HSUC House Use The room, occupied by non paying person, is
Clean already clean

OOO Out Of Order Room is under renovation or not fit for
occupancy since it requires repair or
maintenance work
BLO Blocked Room is reserved for a guest who is
expected to arrive within the day

NS No Show The room is reserved but the guest did


not show up or has not arrived

SO Slept Out The guest slept outside the hotel

HU House Use Room is occupied by an officer or staff of


the hotel or the owning company

DND Do Not Disturb Guest who posted the DND sign and
does not want to be disturbed
TYPES OF GUESTS

VIP – Very Important Persons – refers to a well-
renowned guest like a high ranking official or an
executive who want special treatment and handling

VVIP – Very, Very Important Person – is a highly
renowned person who deserves extra special
treatment. Example: dignitaries, ambassadors, etc.

FIT – Free Independent Traveler or Foreign
Individual Tourist – refers to a tourist who is traveling
alone or is not with any tour group

Joiner – a person joining another guest in the same
room
TYPES OF CLEANING
1. General Cleaning – done for vacant rooms wherein deep
cleaning is needed to restore and maintain its original
beauty


Stripping of all washable room linen

Cleaning the ceiling (vacuuming)

Door, walls, window cleaning (dusting, washing, vacuuming)

Cleaning of furniture, fixtures, and appliances (vacuuming,
shampooing, dusting, brushing, polishing)

Floor cleaning (scrubbing, scraping, vacuuming, mopping)

2. Regular Cleaning (Check-out) – done if the guest has
checked out so that the room can be occupied again


Draw the curtain

Adjust the temperature of the air conditioning unit

Remove service trays (if there is any)

Empty waste basket

Removing of soiled linen

Bedroom cleaning (bed making, dusting, vacuuming)

Bathroom cleaning (disinfecting, washing, scrubbing, rinsing,
drying)

Kitchen cleaning (washing, rinsing, drying, dusting, vacuuming,
mopping)

Living area cleaning (dusting, vacuuming), empty the ashtray
and wash

Dining area cleaning (glass cleaning, dusting, vacuuming,
mopping)

3. Make-up Room (Occupied Room) – this is done to
occupied rooms if the guest has requested cleaning,
either early or late service.

Bathroom cleaning (disinfecting, washing, scrubbing,
rinsing, drying)

4. Night Turn Down Service – an activity of an evening
room attendant done from 6:00 – 9:00 PM
