ANCHORED ON THE CORE
VALUES OF FAITH, ZEAL OF
SERVICE AND COMMUNION IN
MISSION, THE LASALLIAN
REFLECTION FRAMEWORK
(LRF) IS A GUIDE TO ALL
FORMATION AND ENGAGEMENT
ACTIVITIES.
THE LA SALLIAN REFLECTION
FRAMEWORK
LA SALLIAN REFLECTION FRAMEWORK

 "See-Experience“ ("Masid-Danas") understanding of the

situation and the social issues.
The first stage of “see-experience” does not only invites us to see
the situation but to experience it firsthand, especially the reality of the
poor through exposure and immersion.  This stage leads us from
conscious sense-experience to a purposive encounter of knowing and
feeling oneself and others.
LA SALLIAN REFLECTION FRAMEWORK

 "Analysis-Reflection" ("Suri-Nilay") elevating the situation to cognitive

level of analysis and critical reflection.
The second stage which is the heart of LRF leads us to go further and deeper
in the process, from sense-experience to a second level seeing, that of analysis.
We begin to ask the why of the situation: looking for interconnections of personal
and social structures and going beyond looking at surface problems to
identification of root causes of issues, problems and crises.  However, one does
not stop on analysis, “critical reflection” subjects us to the questioning: looking
at one’s own meaning formation, perspectives, mindsets and biases.
LA SALLIAN REFLECTION FRAMEWORK

 "Commitment-Action“ ("Taya-Kilos") engaging the Lasallians into the work-

mission where plans are put into action (Lasallian Mission Office, 2011).
From this, a concrete plan of action will be drawn up (context-sensitive, life-
affirming, mutually empowering and capacitating). Implementation of the plan
can be done individually or by collective (by association in communion); on the
local level to global level. The stage ends with an evaluation of the act, program
or intervention, giving much emphasis on the quality of output and consistency
of process.
IN LINE WITH THE LASALLIAN
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
PRINCIPLES, COSCA
PROMOTES COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS THAT
START WITH AN AWARENESS
OF THE SOCIAL REALITIES OF
OUR TIME.
THE COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT FRAMEWORK
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
FRAMEWORK
 Bring forth social awareness and understanding
In the same way that St. La Salle was “moved by the plight of the
poor,” Lasallians today are expected to maximize exposure activities
to form their social conscience. These experiences must enable them
to respond to the teachings of their faith and develop appropriate and
relevant responses to social injustice.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
FRAMEWORK
 Association in Mission
Lasallians are called to be in solidarity with progressive elements
of the larger community to bring forth a society that is in keeping
with God’s plan. (2009b) Communion in mission is an important
feature of Lasallian social development.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
FRAMEWORK
 Effecting Liberating Action Fuelled by Zeal for Service.
Just as the Founder responded to the call of faith by establishing schools,
Lasallians are expected to seek opportunities to actively engage themselves in
social transformation. Using his/her expertise/skills/talents, the Lasallian
learner/educator/formator is expected to derive relevant, context-sensitive
solutions to social injustice.
LA SALLIAN
PRAYERS
Introductory:
Let us remember that we are
in the holy presence of God.

La Sallian Prayer:
I will continue, O my God,
to do all my actions for the
love of You.

Intercessory:
Saint John Baptist de La
Salle, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts,
forever.
Lord, let me be the change I want to see
To do with strength and wisdom
All that needs to be done
And become the hope that I can be.
Set me free from my fears and hesitations.

Grant me courage and humility.

Fill me with spirit to face the challenge
And start the change I want to see.
Today, I start the change I want to see.
Even if I’m not the light, I can be the
spark.

In faith, service and communion

Let us start the change we want to see,
The change that begins in me
