The washing machine is a modern invention. Even in many parts of the world, a
considerable part of society is assigned the function of washing the clothes while the
housewife or person in charge did other things, taking account that it used to be washed by
hand, this machine begin a great invention, along with its best complement the “DRYER”

 Washing machines appeared at the beginning of the 19th century. One of the first models was the one patented by James King, an
inventor from the United States, in 1851. It had a drum for washing clothes. Water and soap were introduced through it, and the
clothing was cleaned by the effect of agitation with the mixture, With the first washing machine, it was used to wash by hand.

 The inventor of the modern washing machine is the American engineer Alva John Fisher
in 1906, in Chicago (USA). He though he did not patent the invention until the year 1910.

 Year 1982: The Procter & Gamble company commercializes the first liquid detergent for washing
machines under the name of Vizir.
