What is a Teacher?
A teacher also called a
school teacher or, in some contexts, an
educator, is a person who helps others to
acquire knowledge, competences or values.
Informally the role of teacher may be taken
on by anyone.
Role of a Teacher
A teacher serves many other roles in the
classroom. He sets the tone of his classrooms,
builds a warm environment, mentor and nurture
students, becomes a role model, and listens and
looks for signs of trouble. The most common
role a teacher plays in the classroom is
to teach knowledge to children.
Who is an Effective Teacher?
An effective teacher demonstrates a deep
understanding of the curriculum. He plans,
teaches, and assesses to promote mastery
for all students. ... He provides a respectful,
positive, safe, and student-centered
environment.
What an effective teacher
has to do?
 be an energetic and a dynamic person

 enjoy teaching

 convey a love in the field of teaching

 be self-confident

 Keep the class cool and pleasant

effective teacher does?
1. Disrespect students.
2. Teach without clear learning
objectives.
3. Get stuck in a rut
4. Give tests that are too long
5. Fail to establish relevance
6. Have students work in groups with
no individual accountability.
7. Fail to provide variety in instruction
8. Turn classes into PowerPoint shows
9. Call on students cold.

 Address behavior issues quickly and wisely
 Always have a well-designed, engaging lesson
