The document summarizes recent Cyclone Tauktae that struck the western coast of India in May 2021. It discusses that cyclones form due to temperature differences creating low pressure areas over warm ocean waters. Tauktae was an unusually powerful cyclone when it made landfall in Gujarat with winds up to 145 miles per hour, displacing 200,000 people and resulting in 82 deaths.
