SUMMARY
Health and nutritional status awareness manifests our concern for youth specially for our learners.
All of us should know the esence of having a health support system for it is our main priority for
students with poor nutrition to have an improved health condition. In order for us to attain these goals
these will only be accomplished by means of implementing the various programs and projects such as
Project“KNOW: Knowledge about Right Nutrition and Organic Agriculture and Economic Well
being of the school and the communities” , Project “PLANT: Planting crops and vegetables for
Learners Acquisition of Nutrition using new Techniques” , Project “ORGANIC : Organic Materials
for Right Gardening And Natural Integration of Biodegradable Wastes for a Lush Garden and
Pesticides for Pest Control” , Project “DEEP : Developing and Maintaining Compost Pit and Heap
for an Effective Enhancement of Crops and Vegetable Plants” , Project “LUPA: Land Utilization and
Preparation for Agriculture” , Project “Healthy Foods Towards Healthy Body and Minds” and
Project “MAXICARE GPP: MAXimizing Community’s Action in REjuvenating GPP” under
our mother project “Gulayan Sa Paaralan Tungo Sa Tahanan Sagip-Kalusugan Para Sa Kabataan”.
III. PROJECT
BACKGROUND
One of the issues / problems that our community faces is malnutrition which is very common
nowadays specially here in our country particularly here Banyaga National High School. One of
the main concerns of our instition is to lessen hunger and to at least attend needs in health of our
learners with poor nutritional status. That mission will only be possible if we teachers as
government officials with the help of community will take an immediate action through
supporting Gulayan sa Paaralan Projects.
IV. PROJECT
OBJECTIVES
The goal of Gulayan sa Paaralan Tungo sa Tahanan Sagip-Kalusugan Para sa Kabataan are the
following:
- Increase the awareness of the students, parents and teachers of the value of health and right
nutrition and to inform everybody on the health benefits of crops and vegetables in this time
of pandemic.
- Raise a vegetable and crop garden at school and at home for students acquisition of right
nutrition. It also helps learners realize the essence of planting nutritious and healthy foods.
- Promote the use of natural or organic fertilizers and pesticides from biodegradable wastes
such as fruits and vegetable peels and animal manure.
- Maintain and develop compost pit and heap for a continuous supply of organic fertilizers.
- Utilize spaces and convert available areas at school or at home to vegetable garden for the
Gulayan sa Paaralan / Bakuran.
- Provide learners crops and vegetables from school and home vegetable garden produce.
