Community
- from the Latin word, “communis”
which means common or shared

-may be de defined bt two characteristics:


location and social identification
Communities may be formed in
two ways:

1. Geographical
-members share the same geographical vicinity such as a village,
province, or neighborhood

2. Non-geographical
- formed based on needs, ideas, interests, identity, practices, and roles
in social institutions such as at home, all work, in government, society
Levels:

1. Micro Level
- based on personal ties
e.g. small organization

2. Macro Level
- large group affiliations
e.g. national communities, international communities, and virtual
communities
