become more active and
functional.
They also become prone to
sickness and diseases.

DYSMENORRHE
A
It is a cramp or pain felt on the
lower abdomen during
menstruation.

• It may be caused by hormonal


changes or stress.

• To ease the pain , girls should


engage in some physical
exercises.

DYSMENORRHEA?
✘ Doing regular exercises.
✘ Organizing activities
✘ Avoid stress.

CANCER
It is an abnormal growth of tissue.
It is called CANCER, when it has become
malignant (spread to other parts of the body).

• It is not yet established that’s why


some claim that it can be caused by
continuing and repeating irritation.

• It can now be treated by surgery,


radiation therapy and early diagnosis.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED
DISEASES (STDs)

These are diseases that are


passed from an infected person
to another person through
sexual contact.

GONORRHEA and
SYPHILIS
These are examples of STD and both caused
by bacteria.

They can be cured if prompt treatment is


sought.
“ SYPHILIS
• It is caused by small corkscrew-shaped bacteria called spirochetes.
• Early symptoms can easily overlooked.
• CHANCRE- earliest sign; a painless sore seen on genitals. Rashes
may appear in a week and later swellings in the lymph glands, sore
throat and severe headache.
- Worst conditions, it makes the person blind, heart failure
and complications leading to death.

SYPHILIS?
✘ Taking prescribed doses of penicillin.
✘ Blood tests should be done at least once a year
for prevention from occurring again.

✘ Having sexual intercourse only with ONE
SPOUSE.
✘ Consulting a doctor immediately once
symptoms are observed.

GONORRHE
A

• It is the most common of all STDs.
• Symptoms occur in the sex organs and other parts of the body.
• Burning sensation
• Pain during urination
• Discharge of thick yellow fluid.
• In males, testicles and prostate gland swollen
• In females, fallopian tubes are infected.

✘People who have gonorrhea may
become STERILE.

Meaning, they may not be able to


have children.

✘Adequate doses of penicillin must be
given early and continued until disease
is cured.

AIDS
“ Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

•It is caused by Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV which


destroys the body’s ability to fight diseases.
•It is not only transmitted through sexual contact but also
through blood transfusion, sharing needle with an HIV infected
person and breastfeeding by an infected mother.
